Been a fan of Figaro since college - more than a decade now - and have always appreciated that it's a filipino coffee brand. I'd often pass by this branch and thought it had a nice ambiance, so i finally decided to try it out, with the same expectations ive had from other Figaro branches.
Unfortunately, the experience fell short. The food was just okay, walang wow factor. The seats were very dirty. What stood out was the lack of cleanliness of the place. The seats had visible food, water stains, and tagos (yes, menstrual stain) and the cloth upholstery looked like it hadnt been cleaned in a very, very long time. The dining area also had an unpleasant sour smell which made the space feel unhygienic. Even the white couches nila, nagbibitak bitak na. Sayang, the ambiance could have been nice.
The back area had no air conditioning turned on, and worse, there were cockroaches crawling on the chairs and walls. That alone made me question the cleanliness of my food - and to be honest, i couldnt finish mine.
What really sealed the disappointment: when i went to the counter to have my food wrapped for takeout, the staff was eating a whole indian mango with bare hands, while another was preparing the food - also with bare hands. After seeing that, i decided not to eat my leftovers at all and ended up throwing them away.
Its a shame, really. Figaro is a brand with potential and heritage. But poor upkeep like this is hard to ignore, especially in today's competitive coffee landscape. I hope they step up because loyal customers like me still want to root for them.

Read moreThe only reason I'm giving three stars is because of the service. The food and coffee was good, I recommend the half sandwich and half salad menus with coffee, it is delicious, at a very good price. After we ordered, we paid for it, and the cashier even confirmed our order. We sat down and waited. Shortly after they served us our coffee we waited for our food (quite some time, almost 30 min, which is unusual for a simple sandwich and salad, but we were patient). One menu was served. They double checked if we had another one and we confirmed again, so the waiter left and kept us waiting. After a while, my partner went inside to ask what's going on. And here comes the disappointing part. They didn't know that there were two menus, we had to show them the receipt which is weird because we confirmed twice with them that we do. They asked him to wait for two minutes (which clearly was more than that) and that was the only time they assembled the menu, since he stood there and waited. After all of this we just got an apology. No service water. Notes: I think it would be very nice, based on my previous similar experiences, if something like this happens, the cafè would compensate a complementary something, it would be a nice gesture, would make the experience better. (since they had some mini, cheap pastries too). Maybe next time, guests who experience the same thing, would...
