We had the Teppanyaki Set 2 for lunch worth PHP 9888, consisting of three appetizers(Raw Octopus, Pickled Radish and seaweed), three sashimi(mackerel, octopus), Teppanyaki(Tiger prawns, Abalone, Leopard Grouper, Australian Wagyu(A4) and vegetables), with fried rice, seafood soup and desserts(fruits and matcha panna cotta with sweet red beans). The set did not have drinks, so we ordered the sakura drink and Asahi beer. The appetizers were great. Our favorite was the raw octopus with some wasabi. It was surprisingly pleasant and not as chewy as we thought it would be. The sashimi set was also good. The mackarel was our favorite. It was not too fishy. The seafood soup was light and flavorful. The mussels and shrimp in the soup were not overcooked. After the soup, we started the teppanyaki with some skill exercises from the chef and then stirfried vegetables. It was cooked perfectly. Well-seasoned and still crunchy and fresh with that smoky taste you get from the teppan. Next was the fried rice. It was a good standard fried rice, again with that smoky taste. Next was the abalone. It it was tender and had some kind of sauce on top, which was a bit tangy, which matched the flavor of the abalone. Aftwards, the tiger prawns and groper were cooked at the same time. The tiger prawns were first to be served. It was served with a creamy sauce with saffron. It was perfectly cooked and paired well with the creamy sauce. Next was the grouper. It was moist and flaky. We squeezed the lemon on it, which made it more delectable. Last on the teppan was the Austrailian Wagyu A4. We wanted it medium-rare, and it was served as such. Cooked to perfection, seasoned with salt and pepper, and served with fried garlic. The meat was tender and buttery. We paired it with the wasabi, and it was to die for. The serving size of the Wagyu was substantial. We enjoyed every bite. The last part was the dessert, which was assorted fruits(mango, watermelon, and oranges) and Matcha Panna Cotta with sweet red beans on top. The fruits were fresh and sweet, pretty standard. The Panna Cotta was surprisingly mild on the matcha flavor. It was such a delight for us that dont really enjoy the strong taste of matcha, and the red beans also balanced it out, making it a nice way to end the meal. Overall experience was great. We enjoyed all the food that was served. We were not fans of that Sakura drink. It was okay, but maybe it was too early...
Read moreMy recent experience at KAZUWA PRIME CEBU left me with mixed feelings, but overall, it was a memorable visit. Here's a breakdown of my experience:
Ambiance: The restaurant's ambiance is delightful, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. It's perfect for a relaxed dining experience.
Service: Most attendants were friendly and welcoming, though I noticed that a few seemed a bit reserved and not as smiley. Perhaps they were not entirely comfortable with their costumes. Nonetheless, the service was generally good, and I appreciate the effort to make diners feel at home.
FOOD: The food was the highlight of my visit. The menu offers a variety of delicious options. I particularly enjoyed the ramen, which was packed with flavor. The salmon dish was equally delightful, although the portion size felt a bit small given the price (Php1000++). The cheesecake was yummy, though not necessarily a showstopper.
Price: While KAZUWA PRIME CEBU isn't the cheapest option, I believe the prices are fair for the quality and taste of the dishes. It's worth the occasional splurge for the great food and ambiance.
Service Excellence: Special mention goes to Rizzy, who provided us with excellent service. Rizzy's professionalism and adaptability to our preferences made our dining experience exceptional. It's always a pleasure to be served by someone who goes the extra mile to cater to diners' quirks.
In summary, KAZUWA PRIME CEBU offers a pleasant dining atmosphere, friendly staff (with a few exceptions), and delicious food. While it may not be the most budget-friendly option, the quality justifies the price. I'll be returning, mainly because of the fantastic food and Rizzy's...
Read moreWe always stay at Nustar every visit to Cebu. The food options around the casino have a good to high standard. Kazuwa opening up around the same area, you end up with certain expectations..
It is apparent that the place, as a whole, lacks an amount of seriouness for their establishment. You get the sense that everyone is there to play around instead of work.
Food is bad, period. Tonkatsu, terrible, cant even compete with Tokyo Tokyo. I really like Tokyo Tokyo katsu, thats how easy I am to please, and Kazuwa dont deserve to be on the same table.
Salmon is just so disappointing, so overcooked to the point of being dry..
Kazuwa Special Maki is not inedible, its ok. I mean, I just didnt want to order anything else and wanted to just go elsewhere after how bad our 1st two mains were.
Tea they served wasnt even hot... Theres just no one there looking to maintain a certain standard of quality.
I'd go elsewhere, so many good places within walking distance of Kazuwa, so I wouldnt even bother risking it...
