DISAPPOINTED ‼️‼️‼️
We celebrate our friend's bday here tonight. Upon arrival we immediately ordered food and asked Mr R* if there are any available desserts in the resto for our bday celebrant friend, maybe a cake or what for our friend since the resto charges corkage for cakes (or any foods bought outside) then Mr R said "wala" the I asked him again "baka naay cake or anything for bday" then he apologized saying "sorry kaayo Maam wala gyud"
Then I accepted it, no options available. A few minutes our food was served and we started our dinner.
Lo and behold, while we were eating, 4-5 staff came to the table next to us. They brought a bibingka with ice cream on the table next to ours and sang a bday song, we were shocked and we turned around. We found out it was a FOREIGNER celebrating his bday. We we're like (????) Mr R said tto us earlier that there's no available cake or desserts for bday celebrant yet here they are now singing bday song to that FOREIGNER GUY beside our table.
After singing the bday song, the staff walked out from the scene but my friend caught the last staff behind and said na "Kuya, may nag bday din po dito" pointing her fingers to our bday celebrant. Then the staff came near us and asked for the bday celebrant's name. We we're happy that time that they took time to recognize us and we we're expecting that the staff would come back and also sing a song for our bday celebrant or just provide us with the bibingka with ice cream the same served to the Foreigner celebrant.
But after 2hrs and after finishing all out food, no bday song was offered. No bibingka or cake or any dessert was offered to our friend. OUR REQUEST FELL INTO DEAF EARS. We felt like we didn't matter at all, despite all the request.
Are you guys really nice only to Foreigners? Are Filipinos not deserving of the service given to Foreigners? We pay the same price, we don't ask for free food. We pay. And we pay right. We are customers also. And what has happened is such a disappointment to us. We felt discriminated.
I also raised this to the Woman Staff downstairs, she asked for apologies in behalf of her colleague, kudos to her. But Im still writing this review to document the service I experienced tonight and for them to push more to improve also and train their staff well. I know all the staff are hardworking but please don't let other customers feel unwelcome at your premises, don't have favorites coz u never know who are observing the services you provide around.
I think tonight we picked the wrong resto to celebrate with.
We're definitely not...
Read moreI have always wondered what is it about dining at Lantaw, Il Corso - is it the ambiance? The food? The service? I have always seen the place bustling with people, thus I had to try.
Went at the place with family, if you like to be seated at the coveted second floor space, I suggest to come early as there will be a queue and you need to wait for your turn.
We ordered their kare-kare, baked scallops, tuna panga, garlic buttered shrimps, a platter of rice and their large signature cordova coolers plus their mango shake.
The price are affordable, for all of our orders, bill went only to around 1.5K php which is an okay price for a fancy dinner with a family of 4.
Food wise, didn't even anticipate how large of a serving was the kare-kare, this is one of my most favourite Filipino dish, and for this one at Lantaw, it is a bit okay leaning towards being bland would be best to add more peanutbutter so as not to compromise the actual taste of the dish. The tuna panga is delicious and fresh, albeit the serving slice is good for 1-2 persons only. The shrimps were also tasty and the scallops were fresh and delightful. We were able to get a table at the second floor however the wait time is 15-20mins as this was a Friday night and the place was full. The service is great, crew were attentive and helpful, the receptionist at the entrance was also patient given the on-going line and various questions from different people - an added plus.
Overall, it's a decent place to celebrate with friends and family, good food...

Arrived and faced the same ISSUE they have ever since.. many tables empty or/and tables pending to be cleaned by the crew.. you stand there and you wonder IF there is a system, or assigned teams OR anything.. it looks like Chaos..
Create and assign teams for cleaning and teams for sitting down people/waiters maybe thru color coding aprons (so you can monitor efficiency). its ridiculous that there is 12 to 15 groups sitting outside while everyone can see the tables inside either EMPTY or HAS to be cleaned.
2nd point was the cleaned table we got seated at was oily and greasy (every time we go there its the same thing) they wipe it with whatever water thing is in the sprayer and wipe.. you would think there its soupy alcohol sprayer to remove the grease and oils from who ever was eating there previously, but no. greasy table to the point we avoided putting anything personal on it.
Coming to the food, YOU HAVE TO ASK them and EMPHASIS that you want all food to come out together other wise god knows when the rice would arrive or if you get the main dish before the appetizer.
Food itself comes out flavorful and portioned well. ordered variety of dished and the total cost is a bit on the pricier side but acceptable for the what they are offering ambiance wise (just pray it doesn't rain if you get seated on...
