Zubuchon is a must-visit for anyone eager to dive into authentic Filipino cuisine. Renowned for its lechon, Zubuchon claims to raise its pigs in their own backyard—though I can’t help but wonder which backyard could possibly produce such a supply! Regardless, the quality of the food is undeniable. The lechon is crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside, offering a true taste of Cebu’s culinary heritage. Beyond lechon, the menu boasts a variety of traditional Filipino dishes, all prepared with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Each bite is a delightful introduction to the rich flavors of the Philippines. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for both locals and tourists. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned foodie, Zubuchon promises an unforgettable dining experience. Come for the lechon, stay for the culinary adventure. Highly recommended!

Was our first time here since I was craving for lechon and they have schedule of fresh lechon delivery one at 10 am and another at 5pm, which happens to be the peak hours. We went for the 1 kilo and paired with the ensalada with bangus and salted egg. Their lechon has this distinct flavor, not used to it, but my spouse’s family is into lechon business and they commented that the preparation wasn’t well made as it smelled I am sorry to say it it smelled like intestine. Good thing there was this ensalada to mask the smell and slight off taste, but never told me until I was done eating. And that was how my suspicion was confirmed. Still we enjoyed our lunch there. Perhaps my folks are used to the home made lechon.

Visited the first with my daughter and partner. Their food is superb! We ordered 2 rice platters, spicy squid, pork bbq platter, small zubuchon and a pitcher of kalamansi drink. I liked the spicy squid and pork bbq platter the most. My daughter liked the zubuchon but it was a bit bland for me. The kalamansi drink was really refreshing but I wish they couldve strained the kalamasi and the seeds. For the place, it is not too crowded, and has a little bit of space to move around. They only have 1 restroom which is shared for both men and women. The staff were really accommodating. Their promise wait time is 15-20 minutes but our food arrived earlier than the TAT. Overall, 4/5

Zubuchon is an absolute must-visit for anyone craving authentic, high-quality Filipino lechon, especially since it was famously endorsed by Anthony Bourdain as "the best pig ever." This isn't just a place to eat lechon; it’s a full modern Filipino dining experience built on using fresh, natural ingredients (no MSG or artificial enhancers here).

The Main Event (The Lechon):

Flavor Profile: The lechon is stuffed with a fragrant blend of native spices and lemongrass, which perfectly seasons the meat from the inside out. It's flavorful and juicy enough that you genuinely don't need any sauce.

The Skin: The skin is the star—it's incredibly crisp, crackling, and almost candy-like. They baste it with fresh coconut water, giving it a unique, clean taste.

Beyond the Lechon (Must-Try Dishes):

Kamias Shake: This signature drink is mandatory! Its tart, almost green apple-like flavor is the perfect palate cleanser to cut through the richness of the lechon.

Baked Scallops: Served with garlic butter and cheese, these are always fresh and melt-in-your-mouth delicious.

Lechon Sinigang: A wonderful way to experience the lechon in a rich, tangy tamarind soup. It adds a delicious twist to a classic dish.

Things to Keep in Mind (Tips):

Price Point: Zubuchon is a sit-down restaurant experience, so it is slightly more expensive than street vendors, but you are paying for the quality, ambiance, and the "no shortcuts" cooking philosophy.

Go Early: The fresh lechons are usually ready by lunchtime (around 10:30 AM/11:00 AM) and dinnertime (around 5:30 PM). If you want the absolute crispiest skin, aim for those windows.

Frozen Lechon: They offer frozen, packed lechon at the airport and other branches, which makes for a perfect pasalubong (take-home gift) that travels well.

Verdict: Zubuchon is the gold standard for lechon and a fantastic showcase of modern Cebuano cuisine. Whether you order the classic lechon or one of their infused dishes, you won't be disappointed. Five stars for the...

Service was poor. Staff forgot to process our order after taking it. Even though we were seated right beside where all the kitchen staff were, no one checked in when we had no food and drinks on our table after 30 minutes. No apologies were given after we asked about our food. Waiters pretended nothing happened and offered no apologies or accountability, and avoided our eye contact after realizing his mistake

Food was very underwhelming. Ordered the "famous" lechon, Pinakbet & the Fried Chicken Adobo. Due to their glass windows, you can see the chef cutting the pieces of lechon up before putting it into a microwave to heat it up. In a clear attempt to speed up our order, pieces of our chicken were cold in the middle.

Restaurant looked old and dirty. Clear fingerprints could be seen on plates before the meal. Small cockroaches were also spotted...
