Stay away (of course i sent this review to the manager of bayfront but didn't get reply)
Poor stay experience in Bayfront hotel.
I booked Bayfront hotel cebu on advise of a filipino friend… it was my first mistake, specially not to check more the surroundings which is only a SM mall and a bus station
When i arrived for check in, for more facilities, i request to pay for all the nights i had booked (3 nights from 21 to 24 dec then 2 nights from 8 to 10 jan). It was my second mistake !
First bad feeling, after check in ( stricly after 2 pm), i had to wait almost 15 mn to get space in the lift. 2 lifts only for 15 floors…. Every time you want to go down or up you have to wait a long time… really exasperating.
The room is enough large with king size bed, as requested. I experienced the shower cold but for the first night, it was fine.
But the day after started very badly. No water ! I called the front desk… they will send an engineer to fix it…
After a while, the engineer came and told me it will be fixed soon ( and the shortage of hot water too)…No water at least for 3 hours. At the front desk, i requested to cancel my next booking. No water, too much waiting for lift, nothing sympathic in the area, it was too much for me.… the receptionnist replied it cannot be possible to cancel because i already paid the full amount !
I requested to meet the manager of the hotel. I explained all the issues i got. She just replied yes we had a issue of water with our provider, we changed it, the problem will be solve. Long waiting at the lift is normal, it's holidays, we have a lot of customers.
Second day, there were more water, and the third day, before i leave, there were hot water !
Every time i have to ask for cleaning my room. If i don't ask the house keepers personally i don't know if the room will be done !
For all these issues, specially water, not any explanations… they have a lot of staff, i guess 1 of them can go in the rooms which have this issue to apologize…
For my second stay (8 to 10 of january), there were actually less customers (school holidays were over), so it was easier to get the lift.
But when i got inside the room, the safe was not working and it was not possible to open the curtains obscurant. I call the front desk, after 30 mn nothing happens, i call again, then after 30 mn more, one of the staff came and fixed the safe. For the curtains, he needs a stepladder and help of house keepers and asked me when to come. I replied to come when i will be out around 6 pm… He never came…
In summary, i felt the service is really poor. for this hotel which want to be a quality hotel, can we accept this quality of service ? A lot of staff but not efficient. No apologies when they get issues. The staff on the front desk know only how to say yes or sorry but actually do nothing if you don't insist and insist again.
So, really, stay away of bayfront hotel. Only 3 things are ok : the space of the room and the free availability of left luggage for some days, and the concierge who is efficient to get taxi.

Read moreI would have to say that even though I stayed here for one night, this was probably one of the worst stays ever during my 5 week Asia tour. I’m not sure what it is but I guess when you book through a 3rd party website, the hotel tends to give you the least desirable room. It’s 1:30 am as I’m writing this review because I cannot sleep. It’s a decent hotel - I just had a really bad experience.
Let’s begin with check-in. We were there a bit early but wanted to drop our bags off so we can go eat lunch. it’s a 1000 php deposit so I put it on my cc.
When we finally get to the room, we only noticed two towels. No hand towels and no bath mat. I called down for extra towels and they said they charge extra which is odd. Then I mention bath mat and they said they could bring one up at no charge.
Then our WiFi wasn’t active. Someone had to come up to turn it on. By the way, you can only connect 2 devices per room.
Next, I opened the fridge which wasn’t plugged in. There was a baggy of some sort of chemical. It even said “keep away from children.” I threw it out immediately. I believe it was someone’s medicine but I guess the housekeeper missed it or was too lazy to throw it out.
Now for the fun part - there is construction going on quite close to the hotel. You can hear the trucks traveling to and from and workers cutting metal. Then for some reason, there was loud chanting outside the hotel starting at midnight. Mind you, I have a 7am flight and all I can hear is construction and a bunch of teens chanting/cheering. I went to my window and realized that the window handle is broken and the window can not be shut all the way. By this time it’s pointless to change rooms - plus they’re all booked.
I came downstairs to see what the ruckus was all about. Apparently there was some sort of networking group staying at the hotel. I complained to the receptionist and she said she told the security guard to control the noise and she took note of what was left in the fridge. What a frustrating stay!! I didn’t sleep at all and now I’m grumpy going to...

Nestled conveniently near the port, this hotel offers an ideal location for travelers seeking easy access to local attractions. The proximity to the SM shopping mall, just a brief two-minute walk away, adds an extra layer of convenience for guests looking to indulge in retail therapy or savor local dining options. My room, featuring a sea view, provided a serene backdrop that enhanced the overall experience.
Upon arrival at 4pm, I was warmly greeted by the receptionist whose knowledge and professionalism sets a positive tone for my stay. The guy also showed me on how to get to the mall.
The culinary offerings at the hotel boast a variety of dishes, catering to diverse palates. However, the dining service leaves room for improvement. While the staff appears earnest in their efforts to accommodate guest requests, the need to ask for basic amenities, such as tissue paper at the table, suggests a lapse in proactive service. Additionally, the handling of dining utensils, like the rice serving spoon, could benefit from more attention to cleanliness and presentation.
An encounter with a staff member regarding wine glasses with tissue paper inside highlighted a communication gap. His explanation, or lack thereof, regarding their absence on the tables during operational hours, was less than satisfactory. Such instances underscore the importance of consistent service throughout the dining experience.
Despite these challenges, commendable service was demonstrated by Ms. Shane, who anticipated my needs by promptly providing a stirring spoon with my request for hot water. Her attentiveness exemplifies the level of service that can elevate a guest's experience.
Overall, while the hotel offers a fantastic location and potential for a memorable stay, refining certain aspects of service could significantly enhance the guest experience. With a few adjustments, this hotel has the potential to transform a good stay into...
