Gil & Mar Cafe — Restaurant in Dasmariñas

PLACE. It's huge. They have different "sections" where you can sit. One section room is by the window while another is near the live band. They made different "sections" to cater the preference of the customers so that's admirable. SERVICE. They're quick despite the place being huge. Their staff are scattered, some are posted to walk between "sections" to serve the customers when they need something. AMBIANCE. Differs when u sit on certain "sections". But it our "section", it was nice. The place is also air conditioned and the place is well maintained and the layout, well thought off. PRICE. The price is reasonable for the portion. And it's the only place I've been to that gave me a shock. Others, you'll be disappointed for eating 150-200 peso food since the servings are too little. But here, the price is justified for the servings. you can even order extra rice or water since the frappe is too big and the "ulam" with a large serving. UNIQUE. They have "creative" dishes and meals and worthy for social media platforms. Some are witty while others are works of art when it reaches your table. (Y) OVERALL and RECOMMENDATIONS. It's a good place to be when hanging out with friends. Especially if you guys want to have light alcohol or just eat some sweets or a light meal and chat.

The food were served cold, including the sizzling plates, which surprisingly weren’t hot. Even the rice was cold, with only sinigang served hot. Kare-kare was a bit cold too and it was not served at the right temperature for serving hot food. I work as infection preventionist so I know food safety. We waited a long time only to be served cold food.

Unfortunately, as the food was not kept at right temperature, I had symptoms of food poisoning about four hours after leaving the restaurant. My husband also started having symptoms the next day. I only ate cold rice, kare-kare, and cold steamed vegetables.

The staff were not accommodating enough to communicate properly with customers and seemed rushed, even though the restaurant was not full. I will never return to this cafe. I was very disappointed as even the most basic food protocol was...

This place used to be great, however the quality has gone down significantly. Ordering food has a moderate chance of an item or two getting messed up or overlooked. For service, we were served plastic cups as glasses, which I initially turned a blind eye on, but in retrospect, is not a good decision for a restaurant. Food and appearance do not match menus and are truthfully disappointing (appetizers). The way they present food has become a bit too sloppy for my liking.

However, the ambiance of the cafe itself is really chill and relaxing, though the shade of the lights need to be toned down for people with sensitive eyes. Some foods still taste great, such as their sisig and salisbury. But in my honest opinion, they need to have a rehaul over their operations to sell more.
