This was our first time dining at Kuya J Restaurant in Walter Mart Dasmariñas. We’ve always been fans of Savory, which is conveniently located right next to them, but we decided to give Kuya J a try—and it turned out to be quite a pleasant experience.
From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and made us feel truly welcome. Their attentiveness and friendly demeanor added to the pleasant atmosphere of the place, making us feel right at home.
We ordered Set A, which included seafood kare-kare, sisig, crispy kangkong, and some delicious sides. The food was fair—flavorful and satisfying, though I personally still lean towards Savory. The seafood kare-kare had a rich, creamy peanut sauce, the sisig had the right balance of crunch and savoriness, and the crispy kangkong was a fun addition.
We also ordered two ube halo-halos, which were an absolute treat. The layers of ingredients were generous, and the ube flavoured shaved ice was perfectly creamy and indulgent. We ended up sharing one and taking the other to go. We also ordered a plate of glass noodles, but we couldn’t even finish it because of the generous portions. In fact, there was so much food that we had leftovers!
We really appreciated how generous the servings were, making it great value for money. The 40% discount on our Set A meal was the cherry on top, making an already pleasant experience even better.
I’ve seen some negative reviews on Google, but maybe that’s how it was before. Now, it seems the management is doing a great job. The staff were incredibly polite, welcoming, and efficient throughout our visit.
Thank you, Kuya J, for a good dining experience. While Savory still holds a special place for us, it's nice to see Kuya J stepping up. We’ll definitely keep you in mind for...

I recently dined at Kuya J Restaurant and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The poor service and various issues I encountered left me disappointed.
Firstly, the cleanliness of the tables was a concern. It took quite a while for the staff to clean the table for the next customer, even though I was already seated. This delay was quite noticeable and affected the overall dining experience.
Moreover, I was disappointed to find that the menu was not given to me promptly. It took some time for the server to provide me with the menu, which was an inconvenience.
The wait for the food to be served was also longer than expected. When the food finally arrived, it was disappointingly cold and seemed undercooked. Additionally, some of the items listed on the menu were not available, which further added to the disappointment.
Furthermore, I noticed a pipe on the entrance leading to the kitchen, which was not only unappealing but also raised concerns about hygiene and safety.
Lastly, the halo-halo, a popular Filipino dessert, seemed to lack some of the essential ingredients that make it enjoyable. This further contributed to my overall disappointment with the dining experience.
In conclusion, my visit to Kuya J Restaurant left me with a poor impression due to the slow table cleaning, delayed menu service, cold and undercooked food, unavailable menu items, unappealing entrance, and lacking halo-halo ingredients. I hope that the management takes these concerns seriously and works towards improving the overall dining experience for future customers.

Read moreCame here to have some afternoon snack and this branch made me realty disappointed.
I ordered crispy pinakbet (which is always in my list whenever im going to dine here) but they served me this greasy, almost not battered dish. The texture is gross, and literally substandard.
We enjoyed our scallops and decided to order again but the second order took so much time to be served.
Poor service. I don't recommend this branch.
Management, do something about this and don't let this branch became a karindirya with water...
