I lived in Thailand for 5 years, so when I heard about this resto, I was quite excited. However, the two dishes that my husband and I ordered fell flat. The Pad Kra Pao was not even close to the real thing. It was salty and lacked a most important ingredient, the holy basil. The other dish was the Khao Moo Krob, which, to be honest, I have not seen nor tried in the 5 years that I lived in TH. Furthermore, Moo Krob is supposed to be deep-fried pork, but this one was just seared. I am attaching here a photo of the Khao Moo Krob, and you be the judge. Also, I paid 300 pesos for this sad-looking dish. The kicker, however, was the service. After waiting for almost 30 minutes for the Khao Moo Krob, I followed up with one of the servers (not the one who took our order), and she obligingly went to the kitchen window and asked if the 2nd order from our table was ready, and the server (who took our order) shouted across the room that we had no other order. We were completely shocked! I told her that we did order a second dish; in fact, it was the first dish we ordered. And then she answered me quite unpleasantly (pinamaldita), "paspas ra man gihapon na maluto!" then turning her back to go to the kitchen window to give my order. While that dish was being cooked, she and the other servers were crowding near the kitchen window and snickering and sarcastically and mockingly telling the chef to hurry, etc etc. I was not one meter away from that window, and I was well within earshot of everything they were saying. The dish indeed came very quickly but looked and tasted quite disappointing. So not...

I know pad krapao is normally on the salty side so I thought the vinegar sauce provided was going to balance it out. But the vinegar sauce was salty as well! So I had to use the “service” spiced vinegar on the table which was actually really good to be fair
Plaa dook yaang was dry ???? – is it supposed to be like that? The pla pao I had in Thailand was extremely soft and juicy on the inside. The crispy hito in Mintal (which was deep fried) was also soft and juicy inside; crispy on the outside. Overall it just wasn’t a pleasant experience. And I love hito (catfish)!!
Mango sticky rice was ok. But the serving was a bit small and I was expecting sweeter mangoes since we’re in the Philippines (Thai mangoes aren’t as good)
Green papaya salad was good but quite salty as well! 🥲
Overall, I don’t mind going back and giving the other dishes a try. But my first experience here was lacklustre – I left Oboza Compound underwhelmed and...
Read morewe went there a few days ago as 5. ambiance was nice. good music. i am no food critic but i got some few issues.
we ordered kaeng hang leh for sharing. we expected a decent amount of viand (ulam) since it’s for SHARING. sadly, we were disappointed. we only received 3 pcs of pork with the amount of 300 pesos. we weren’t able to took a photo of it but c’mon really?
we also ordered the khaep muu which was deep fried pork skin (chicharon) with their special sauce. the food wasn’t served hot so this wasn’t cooked recently??? the quality was also was giving porky’s best and it was too dry.
last but not the least, the mango sticky rice/khao niaw mamuang. the size of the dessert was small for 230 pesos. you can also barely taste the coconut cream sauce as well.
other than this 3 dishes, all was well. we ordered the phat khaprao, khao phat puu, and khai thot. these 3 did not disappoint. hoping that this restaurant will improve the next...
