Japanese food is very good, with a huge menu and large portions. Good quality and very delicious. Price is expensive by Filipino standards, but it is good food. Wait times for dishes can be quite long, but that's ok if it's good quality and handmade. One thing I really didn't like was when I asked for tea without sugar, and received heavily sweetened tea anyways. All I wanted was some Japanese tea, and instead I got sweet tea. They claimed there was no sugar in it, but there must have been some sort of artificial sweetener because it was not unsweetened tea at all. That was very irritating to me considering how much money we spent on the meal (over 1500 pesos, July 2025). When we asked to exchange it, we just got another one that tasted the same. If you ask for tea at a Japanese restaurant, they should have some basic tea that doesn't taste like you're drinking a can of sweet tea from 7-eleven.

Taishozan has consistently been one of the best Japanese restaurants in the city. While it may be small, the food is truly superb, transporting diners to the heart of Japan with every bite. The restaurant offers incredible value for its prices, making it a favorite among locals and visitors alike. I never miss an opportunity to bring friends and guests to experience its delicious cuisine. Having lived in Japan as a foreign student, I can confidently say that Taishozan captures the authentic flavors of Japanese food. The restaurant is impeccably clean and cozy, with a welcoming atmosphere enhanced by the servers' warm hospitality. They always greet guests with the traditional "irasshaimase" as they enter through the restaurant's sliding doors.

Great food, ambience and service (they gave us free maki rolls) Menu can be found online or requested via messenger. Bills 5% service fee. What we ordered: Sho-yu Ramen Buta don Unagi roll Free: breaded cucumber rolls They serve water and fermented chayote as appetizer. Rolls have wasabi, and fermented ginger as palate cleanser. The ramen is really good, specially the soup - and only P299! They give service plates and soup bowls even if not everyone ordered ramen, which we appreciated. There were only us and a couple in another table so it was quiet. Their music sounds like that of a spa, relaxing. Suggestions for improvement: availability of card payment water pressure of CR
