Doña Vicenta Park — Attraction in Davao City

The park maintains a generally clean environment, with minimal litter observed throughout the area. It is equipped with its own security system, which contributes to a sense of safety for visitors. Basic amenities such as benches and restrooms are available and functional, although certain facilities, such as the skywalk, remain closed at present.

In terms of accessibility, the park is commendable. It can be easily reached by the general public and appears to accommodate individuals of varying physical abilities. However, the park imposes strict regulations on allowable activities. Visitors are prohibited from staying on the grass, and those attempting to practice routines—such as dance or group performances—are often reprimanded by staff. These rules significantly limit recreational freedom and make the space less ideal for student groups or informal practice sessions.

One notable feature of the park was a vendor selling snacks and drinks, often accompanied by his dog, which added a warm and welcoming touch to the environment. Unfortunately, due to recent incidents involving our group, I do not expect to return and encounter this familiar presence again.

The sky walk is also closed indefinitely due to overload concerns. Sad. Probably could just put up a sign to tell people to keep distance. And Or assign the guard/care taker at the sky walk entrance instead of sitting by the Cr and watching videos off his phone all day..

More benches throughout the park would also be nice, the only place to sit now is either on the grass or at the amphitheater, which could get crowded.

But all in all, good to see some new parks in Davao. Gov is on the right track.
