Henri's was situated just above Lihim Resort and as the name suggests, you do need to do a bit of travelling to get there. Our family was ferried into a hidden coast via jetski -- that was really fun. Then we went through Lihim and rode pick-up vans that took us over a very steep road. Henri's was at the top of this cliff, we went inside and climbed maybe around 40 steps to get to the veranda and boy what a magnificent view. The food was definitely good, their timing and service can be better though, like we had already almost finished the meat and the rice only came after, which did not make sense. Also, as I said, food was good but definitely can be made better. It felt like it was missing that spark that makes it a place you want to come back to: less clutter on the table and more creativity, impact and presentation of food. The only thing that made me remember it was the corn side dish, that was very exquisite. Of course, if you're trying to get a table here, you would know that it is very pricey but not without its merits. The exclusivity and the view are top notch - probably one of its kind. The people are all very very welcoming and nice as well. I can't give it a 5 star yet based on the things that I pointed out. This place has a lot of potential but needs a bit more work to justify that...
Read moreSimply spectacular views over El Nido. Getting here proves slightly trickier than your average bar, but it is a great adventure nonetheless. A 4x4 is required to climb the 18 degree incline and pass through the rocky terrain to get to Henris bar. Once parked you are chauffeured to the main building in a very clean electric vehicle and welcomed by multiple staff members. We only came for sunset drinks and the bar is small but relaxing. We had the final table looking out onto the bay and the pictures speak for themselves. You can see planes taking off one way, and dolphins breaching the surface the other. Drinks were very reasonably priced for a rooftop bar, 400-450 pesos for a cocktail. I cannot comment on food as I didn’t order any. Only knocking off a star as when the sun started setting they put on some weird sort of disco lights that slightly detracted away from the upmarket atmosphere. I would very much recommend this bar to someone looking for a great...
Read moreIt’s very sad but the food in this place was horrible.. We both ordered steaks and the color and taste on both of them were suspicious, which is weird, as we thought it is a safe option, as they position themselves as a steakhouse.. We couldn’t finish it and a few minutes later I had to go to the toilet and vomitted.. The starter wasn’t very good either.
The staff saw our barely touched plates but didn’t ask how the food was until after we have payed, which seemed a little odd. Eventually they asked how the food was and looked worried after hearing how sick I got. They offered some medicine and a nurse, which was thoughtful. We didn’t get a discount or some compensation though.
However, the upstairs bar was amazing and the cocktails are very very tasty so we would 100% recommend visiting only for the cocktails as the dinner was very expensive and we didn’t enjoy it at all, which is sad because we had big expectations for...
