Stayed here 14 days. Had some good times and some really bad times. overall I would urge you to look elsewhere for a stay. The place has the potential to be a true 5/5 experience if management showed some desire to maintain the place.
the good: Gorgeous grounds for relaxing. Gorgeous views. Alejandro the groundskeeper is the nicest dude ever. Quiet location but still walkable to El Nido proper. cute dogs on site. large rooms and you can cook for yourself.
the bad: accessibility can be a pain due to the tides but overall very manageable. wifi is pretty bad. power will go out during your stay. roosters are so loud every morning , but not the fault of the hotel. Cute dogs woke us up several times barking at 3 am. hotel room is not super clean if you’re looking hard enough, behind cabinets for example.
the absolute ugly: 4 days our toilet was leaking severely, which caused it to flood the bathroom. we were given towels to combat this but did not help. imagine splashing around to use the bathroom, yikes. when the power is out, you cannot use the shower or toilet. the power can and will be out for long periods, so expect long periods without being able to clean yourself properly.
OUR LAST DAY- we did not have power for full day. We were told that it will come on at anytime. by 8 pm, we were told there would be no power and that we will be moved to a hotel in town.. packed up in the dark and made our way there, mostly by foot because of high tide. upon arrival we see that we were booked into a crummy bunkbed room, that likely cost a small fraction of what i paid for my room at la salangane. no offer of...

Miriam the owner called us to harass us to pay her because our booking app registered that she had overbooked. She demanded our personal details and insulted us. No acceptance of her messing up, she claimed it's a common problem that hotels overbook and said her staff are clueless! Perhaps large chains, not small beach front contained flats. No apologies for the situation she put us in, just insults.
Scam!! Avoid!! We sat waiting for several hours because they overbook. No room available. In the end we kicked up enough of a fuss they relocated us in a nearby cabana, not comparable quality and only one night available!! No refund available to us. The owner is taking the absolute mick. They don't care at all about the guests, we spent ages tracking down anyone working there too. Wish we had read the...
Read moreThe location is about a 15 minute walk from the city itself, some tricycles will take you there but they will mostly suggest that you take a bike ride instead. The room has a gas stove top, some utensils to get you started, fridge, AC that's a bit loud and can be improved. The shower water pressure was not enough but if you don't mind it will do the job. The garden of the villa is beautiful with an amazing view at the bay. The beach frequently has seaweeds but it is swimmable and there are some fishermen returning from the waters in the morning, we once bought fresh squid right then and there! During my visit, the WiFi was not suitable for work. These are things to improve but overall i loved it here. The hostess is kind and helpful, there are multiple Sari Sari (basic kiosk type) stores and many locals. I would...
