Phoenix Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in El Nido

I give 5-star for the INCREDIBLE thai food and the Thai chef, the Dutch owner who is really welcoming to the customers(and his dog Mylo who is the cutest!) and the beautiful location as well as the great decoration! There are tables and hammocks to relax and it is all so well taken care of. But really, the Thai food which is of great quality and huge portions, is like an oasis in the Philippines (if you get me..). The owner has some nice plans about the bar and I wish him a lot of luck and success !! P.s. I do not recommend this bar for breakfast.. sadly in the morning our experience was the opposite to the one we had the previous night at the dinner.. in the morning the staff in charge was different to the night one (mostly locals) who were not that happy to attent us, did not seem to understand our orders, brought us 3 times wrong food, it took them more than 1 hour to prepare me a yogurt with granola fruits and honey, which in the end had no granola and no honey and no yogurt (lol). At least, after my complaint to the owner the problem was resolved and I enjoyed my breakfast despite the delay. As a conclusion, I totally recommend this place as a bar, as a restaurant and for the views and I just suggest that the service in the morning improves so that the whole experience...

I talked to the owner Jerome and unfortunately it used to be the Calitang Beach Resort but it burnt down but it reopened as Phoenix Bar and it is a must go-to while at Nacpan or Calitang ! It’s about a 10 minute walk on the beach from Nacpan Beach to Calitang Beach (which is due west for sunset Nacpan isn’t west). Hands down the Best Thai food you will ever eat as the chef once cooked for the Thai King. Super chill atmosphere along with the most amazing sunset views you will ever see ! I let Jerome know that I had to put this place on the map so when people googled it they would be able to find it. When I went there they were only open for a month and a half but they will be here for a while because of their amazing Thai food and drinks. In the start very friendly staff/owner of the restaurant and amazing food but we had a very unlucky experience. We went there and a large group went to the restaurant on another table. Maybe about 12 people. The staff took their order, maybe 3 dishes per person and cocktails. We ordered one appetizer for two persons and it took 1 hour and 45 minutes to get it! They took all their orders, served them desert and drinks AND got their bill and then they made our shrimp cocktail in ten minutes and nearly didn't apologize. I have never experienced such a bad behavior. Would not recommend...
