The room we had was very spacious and decently clean. The ceilings are pretty high which adds to the space. However it is the closest thing to living off-grid as possible while paying exorbitant prices. Let me explain. There is no landline phone, the wifi is non-existent. You have to march all the way to the front office to get a wifi signal and even then it was very unreliable. There is no cable TV service but they did have downloaded movies saved in the smart TV. There is no refrigerator in the rooms. Since the cell phone service was also extremely poor you pretty much have to go to the front office to request for anything, including breakfast preferences. We stayed on the mangrove side of the resort so we saw a full complement of insects including giant black ants, lizards, and the ever-present mosquitoes. ||At 8am you will be wakened by loud music coming from the houses behind the mangrove. We heard ballads the first morning, then rave music the next, but all consistently loud enough to wake you. ||There were incidents of power failures and I made sure to let the front desk know that I use a CPAP machine to help me breathe at night. They assured me that they had a generator but that they have to get fuel for it but that the generator will be available 24-7. That first night the power went out and the generator never went on. I had to wait for an hour and a half for the power to return (1:30am) so I can resume my sleep.||We also booked an island-hopping tour with the on-site tour-guide but apparently the outrigger boat assigned to us was reassigned to another group in the same resort. We didn't start on our tour until almost 2 hrs later. ||And finally we asked if they had laundry service on site which included a dryer. The rep assured us there was but they had to charge us P100/kilo. The going rate for commercial laundry service was P200/7 kilos so this was really a ripoff. I didn't mind as long as there was a dryer since we were scheduled to leave the next day. But, you guessed it, our clothes were wet by check out time. I asked them what happened and the manager/owner (Manilyn) said that there was a load in the dryer last night so they couldn't put our clothes in. It was 7pm when I handed them our clothes and it was 11 am when they gave us our wet clothes back. ||So, yeah, our experience in this resort was horrific. Construction was non-stop and they were getting the main building ready for occupancy because they were already fully booked. There was only one other group in the resort while we were there so there was really no excuse for them to provide this terrible service. I hope this review helps the management make improvements but I'm afraid the future customers will be in for an...
Read moreMy brother’s family and I stayed here. They came all the way from Canada to get a vacation in Palawan.
Location: Nice because it’s beach front and not crowded. 15-20mins away from El Nido town, so if you want to dine out or just experience the busy/night life in town, you’ll have to rent either a motorcycle 400php for a day (applicable if youre a solo or couple traveller), tricycle offered to us was 2000php back and fort, as well as van for 4000php. Which is too much for us. There was an ongoing construction of a bridge going to hotel btw, so it’s muddy.
Hotel: their theme is Castles. they have big rooms and beds, spacious bathroom. But there was ongoing constructions happening just outside our room, which was noisy. There was another guest who actually complained about it because it was not disclosed in the pictures.
Service: this disappointed us the most. Our food is included in the booking, but that doesnt mean that we’ll get our meals 2hrs every time. We were told that their meats’ still frozen so they have to thaw it first. Which is surprising since they have lots of guests. There was also a time that we just asked for a grilled fish and porkchop so that it’ll be easier to cook, but again they took 2hrs to serve it. Yet, we got an uncooked grilled fish and a god knows what kind of filipino pork steak. When asked why they served pork steak instead of grilled, theyre response was, “well you asked for all grilled, we decided that its better to make pork steak for a change”. Like what the heck? I still have a lot to say about their poor poor poor, extremely infuriating service. Seriously. but just to share also, they cancelled our day2 tour just bcos the other guest who joined us before cancelled. But they didnt ask us or double checked if want to cancel even though we had clear agreement with the tour guide that we’re sure to go since it’s what we came for and the nxt day we’re off to puerto princesa already. We just stayed in the hotel the whole day. As compensation they agreed to pay 500php for the van so we can go to the town which was unacceptable. My nephew was so upset he cried.
The staff lacks so much training. The owners didnt even had the decency to face the complaints and hid in the identity of just being one of the employees. Their nice place would never make me come back here. I highly recommend to avoid this place. Our stay...
