After watching an episode of Byahe ni Drew where the tantalizing liempo of Ramboy’s in Aklan was introduced, I found myself swept up in an unusual excitement. Could the driver who guided Drew to this hidden gem have been exaggerating? Was the reaction staged, a bit too good to be true? Well, I don't need to go to Aklan to find out after seeing this place in Google Maps while looking for a place to eat. And what a discovery it was. The answer, is that the hype is real! Ramboy’s liempo is not merely food—it is an experience. Having sampled liempo across the islands—from Bohol to GenSan and Cebu—nothing compares to this. The moment I bit into that crispy, succulent pork, I understood why it’s become a local legend. It’s no wonder Drew himself had a moment of pure delight. The portions are as generous as the flavor is rich. The crackling of the skin, the tenderness of the meat—it was, quite simply, perfection on a plate. The only lament I have is that Ramboy’s hasn’t ventured to Cebu yet. Surely, it would reign supreme among the liempohans here. The ambiance? A solid 5. The staff? Warm and welcoming, even teaching me a word or two in Hiligaynon. As for the food—it might just be the best liempo in all of the Philippines.

If you go to a restaurant and order what they are known for you won't go wrong. This is specially true if you're visiting for the first time. Ramboy's is known in Aklan for having the best liempo. They also have a branch in Iloilo along the road of Molo Church. It was a short walk after the mass to grab lunch here. Food - 5*, their serving of Liempo (₱350) is very generous, Their pork belly treatment is not the traditional inihaw but more lechon kawali or lechon Macau. Aside from being generous, it was delicious, well-seasoned, not overly fat and the skin was properly crispy. Word is the owner used to be a Pinoy Marinero in charge of the ship's kitchen. He knows flavor and how it is to feed a number of people. We paired this with their Chop Suey and a platter of rice and we had a delightful meal. Service - 5*, we were attended to right away and was served efficiently in a friendly manner Atmosphere - 4*, restaurant was capable of hosting big groups and more intimate ones as well Parking - 3*, probably good for 4 cars. Street parking is allowed

Still one of my favorite liempo ever! A must visit every time we go to Iloilo. Love how tasty the meat is and kahit na hindi bagong luto, crispy parin yung balat! The shrimps were good too.

I don't know why there is so many good reviews. The food was not good at all. The service was barely even there. The lumpia was the worst I've ever had. I wouldn't go back here for free food. Sorry but that's my opinion. Not good at all. So many better options in this city. Pass on...
