I enjoyed my second visit to unit 1A almost as well as the first. This time I and my partner (I'm American, he Filipino) drew a decidedly negative stare from a man I believe to be the proprietor. My reaction was, as always, "let them look!" If I am ever asked to leave, which I never have been nor expect to be, I'll happily withdraw my presence and my money. The servers are attentive and friendly. The cost of the meal is commensurate with the quality of the experience; in short, a good value. I enjoy the indoor and covered outdoor table service. They also have dedicated parking for 5 or 6 cars which is nice to have in Ormoc where available parking can be elusive. I ordered the vegetable omelet, which is a step above average restaurant fare in taste. I had the white cold brew, delicious, and served in a bottle with a glass tumbler filled with ice. Food: Decent serving size but the rice meals were not pleasing, the rice looks like it was just dump there and done. It was cold too, not even room temp, the potato chips were burnt, the pork belly had too much fat in it vs. the lean meat ratio. The only thing we liked was the banana nuttela shake. The foods are not worth their prices.
Service: No one accomodated us when we came in, we had to get the menu ourselves and had to come to the cashier to order. Serving time also is too long, had to wait at least an hour. Rated it two stars instead of one because the security guard helped us park since it's full.
Atmosphere: We liked the cozy lighting at night and the al fresco dining but every cafe does that so...
Read moreVery Good Food and Bakery in Ormoc City! I have eaten here twice and enjoyed my meals both times very much. Very chic restaurant cafe in Ormoc City directly across from Ormoc Villa Hotel. On my first visit I had the pork chop which was prepared well. Also tried one of the hamburgers which was good. Second visit I had the grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup. Probably the best most authentic grilled cheese sandwich you will find in Leyte. Coffee and coffee drinks are excellent. Baked goods are also excellent. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Limited parking in front. Open until about 10PM. Safe Area....
