Nestled in the heart of Palawan's Puerto Princesa, El Txoko offers a culinary journey that tantalizes the taste buds and ignites the senses. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted with a warm ambiance and the aroma of authentic Spanish cuisine.

Let's delve into the gastronomic delights that await:

Gambas El Ajillo: Prepare to be transported to the shores of Spain with El Txoko's Gambas El Ajillo. Plump, succulent prawns bathed in a rich garlic-infused olive oil, perfectly seasoned with a hint of chili flakes. Each bite is a harmonious blend of flavors that dance on the palate, leaving you craving for more.

Chicken Cheese Quesadillas: For a fusion of flavors, look no further than the Chicken Cheese Quesadillas. Crispy tortillas embrace a generous filling of tender chicken and gooey melted cheese, elevated with a medley of spices. Served with fresh salsa and creamy guacamole, it's a symphony of textures and tastes that satisfies every craving.

Patatas Bravo: Indulge in the culinary masterpiece that is Patatas Bravo. Crispy golden potatoes are served with a smoky and slightly spicy tomato-based sauce, creating a tantalizing flavor combination. Each bite offers a delightful contrast of textures and a burst of savory goodness that leaves you wanting more.

Churros: No Spanish meal is complete without a sweet finale, and El Txoko's Churros are a testament to that. Crispy on the outside, yet soft and fluffy on the inside, these golden delights are dusted with cinnamon sugar and served with a velvety chocolate dipping sauce. It's pure bliss in every bite, evoking memories of Spanish street markets and bustling plazas.

Croquetas: Last but not least, indulge in the heavenly Croquetas. Delicately crispy on the outside, these golden nuggets conceal a creamy, melt-in-your-mouth filling of savory goodness. Whether filled with rich Spanish ham or gooey cheese, each bite is a revelation of flavor and texture that leaves you longing for just one more.

Sangria: To complement your meal, sip on El Txoko's authentic Sangria. Bursting with the flavors of ripe fruits and subtly infused with Spanish wine, it's the perfect accompaniment to your culinary adventure. Each sip transports you to the sun-drenched vineyards of Spain, adding an extra layer of authenticity to your dining experience.

Baked Oysters: While El Txoko excels in most of its offerings, the only letdown was the baked oysters. Though fresh, they lacked the wow factor expected from the rest of the menu. However, this minor flaw is easily overlooked amidst the plethora of delectable options available.

In conclusion, El Txoko Puerto Princesa is a culinary gem that delights the senses with its exquisite Spanish fare. From the vibrant flavors of Gambas El Ajillo to the irresistible sweetness of Churros, each dish is a testament to the passion and expertise of the chefs. Whether you're a seasoned foodie or a casual diner, a visit to El Txoko promises an unforgettable dining experience that will leave you...

Recovering from flu, I would be able to taste all the flavours and spices to do good justice to my review of them.

Ordered Gambas Al Aljillo, Pumpkin Soup and Churros.

Gambas Al Aljillo was said to have "lots and lots of garlic", which I notice 1 whole clove. Maybe the rest were chopped. Garlic wasn't pronounced, but maybe my taste buds were as alert.

Pumpkin Soup has a distinct hint of curry spice, verified with the staff. Soup was fibrous, seems to suggest, pumpkin was grind/blended before cooking, resulting in the texture. It's still nice.

Churros knocked me off my seat. The waitress actually made it fresh on order. I've never seen churros made so fresh. She even rejected the 1st lot, as she said, the dough is likely left out too long thus texture compromised. What? She was most willing to redo it, fresh dough, folded and made all over again. They take their churros very seriously.

The churros has a nice crisp on the outside, moist and chewy on the inside. The dust of cinnamon sugar added a nice touch.

BTW, it isn't a 4" short churros but a good 6-8" whole churros they served.

Last but not least. The mango margaritas has a nice amount of tequila. I requested for reduced sugar, and it went just nice.

I can only conclude my visit as, "came curious,...

We all had a great time and enjoyed the food. The waitress was outstanding and she took good care of us! Kudos to the chef and the staff! We had an amazing baked oysters to kick things off, french onion and pumpkin soup was great, and calamari for entrees (mom enjoyed the aioli dip) 😅. As for the mains we ordered Paella Negra which was the highlight (highly recommended) and it goes so well with the sav blanc 🤤, seafood pasta, beef Bourguignon we're yummy as well. To finish our dine we had silvana, churros and pecan pie which I enjoyed. I had Jasmine tea which had a beautiful taste and scent, to wash it all off! Great selections of wine, the sav blanc complemented the dishes well and my glasses went so quick as we go through the dishes. Overall, It was a very pleasant experience dinning in! Salamat ng marami! 😊 Highly recommended! Must try! Will definitely come...

After having been there several times i think it is time to give a rating. We like the Spanish Tapas Bar Ambience, the Outside sitting area and friendly and professionell waitress there. The CR is always clean too. They have a great happy hour(s) from 4-7pm with 2 cocktails for 260 Pesos, which are of good quality and size. Bottle of wine starts at 850 which is also quiet fair. There is plenty of choices in the menu which makes us find new choices every visit. Most are of good size and best to share. Our favourites are Ceviche, Paella, Gambas al ajillo, Chorizo dishes, Patatas bravas, French onion soup, Beef bourguignon, oecan pie with icecream. Getting hungry now, guess we will come back soon 😃. Maybe a bit of music at the terrace would make the experience perfect. Avoid the Tapas Bar next door, tried it, but El Txoko is much better.
