Meh. A lot of people suggest that when you visit Puerto Princesa, you must not miss Kinabuch, but I say otherwise, when you go to PP, Palwan, skip this part. This place is too overrated. You could give it a try and see for yourself.
When we went there, the place was in absolute chaos! There was no one in the front to greet you and let you know 'they are full', instead there was a guard who advised us 'sige maghanap kayo ng bakanteng upuan'. Finally after 10 minutes of scouting for an empty space, walking around like confused people, we managed to spot one. Then again, we waited for 15 minutes only to ask for the table to be cleaned.
Their staff were running like headless chickens, I do not blame them but feel sorry for them, they were so short-staffed that customers had to shout and fight against each other only to get the attention of the waiters. Our food was served; sweet and sour lapu-lapu, bam-i, and rice. They were fine, not the best but they were alright. I requested for some water whilst waiting for them to clean the table, and asked once more when they served the food, then finally the water was given when we were about to finish our meal. It was horrendous. It was a very bad experience.
Asking for the bill was another struggle. There were loads of times when I felt we were ignored. Instead of waiting on our table, we opted to go to the cashier and asked for our bill. The female cashier was abrupt and intimidating. She gave our bill without saying anything. We left the place upset. I will never go back to this place. This was my fourth visit in PP Palawan and first in Kinabuch and I will never advise people to go here. Bad customer service and...
Read moreTHEY DONT HAVE TAMILOK AND COC SISIG. I REPEAT, THEY DONT HAVE TAMILOK AND COC SISIG. I went here just for the tamilok and the crocodile sisig, but they are not serving those anymore, so that bumped their rating to 3. I tolerated their expensive food because they have the tamilok and coc sisig but they dont have those anymore so find another spot to eat like KaLui which is also expensive but has a great ambiance so it feels more touristy. Food is expensive here cause it is a bar, and you know how bars typically bump prices 150%. In fairness, all of the food we ordered tasted great so that's a plus just monitor what you order cause the waiters are not that great in listing your orders and will put things you didnt order in the final bill. i get that Filipino bars do this when people are drunk, especially in manila, but i didn't expect this in Palawan. was quite disappointed. they kept on telling me it will be on their salary if the order doesnt push through but if they release food that i didnt order, id be happy that waiters get their salary deducted so please watch what you order and check your final bill if thats truly what you ordered. I foregone one extra mango shake cause someone wanted it but to give me other things, that's where i drew the line. bring mosquito repellant if you are going here cause there's a ton of mosquitos out, and it is an...

Food: Tuna ceviche: Excellent. 5/5
Fresh tamilok: It is a woodworm. Local fish. It has a good taste, similar to sea urchin. 5/5
Bangus cordon bleu: Fish that I couldn’t feel almost any taste because “cordon bleu” was too intense. Especially ham. 3/5
Laing: It is a Filipino dish composed of taro leaves and coconut milk. We felt coconut a lot, but also something like oil - it would be great if it tasted less oily. Spicy. 3/5
Bistek tagalog: A bit chewy and “boring”. You should order a side dish with it. 2/5
Leche flan: Good. 4/5 Blueberry cheesecake: Didn’t really taste like a cheesecake, more like blueberry jam with cream. 3/5
Price: Total was 1900 PHP, which is about 32 euros. We think it is expensive considering that this is in Philippines and quality is not amazing.
Location: Easy to find, huge restaurant. The only issue are mosquitos wondering around.
Restaurant itself: Bar has music quite loud, but you can sit outside so it will be a bit less noisy. They didn’t have a soap, just some mixture of mainly water with a bit of soap, so that is a minus for not putting a proper soap. They did it only after being asked. I noticed that this is a common practice around Philippines.
