When you think or crave for isaw, it would definitely be Mang Larry's isawan inside UP Diliman campus. I was here during the early months of pandemic. There were only 4 tables then. So I was surprised when it expanded to more than 8-10 tables and an enclosed area at that. And the gourmet Indian mango cart is inside as well. I came with my cousins about 6-7 of us. As usual long queues of cars, long queue of customers. My cousin ordered more than 15 pieces each of special pork isaw, pork isaw, chicken isaw, chicken liver, pork bbq, then a plate of kwek kwek, dynamite, calamares etc. The isaw now costs around P15 per stick. So well, they spent about 2k in all, we got to take out the rest we couldn't consume. Definitely, we always come back. Right now it's located along Jacinto street across College of Fine Arts (I think!)

Classic Filipino grilled street food place. Isaw, bbq, tenga, blood, chicken at iba pa. It used to be a food cart but it now has a covered seating area with fans. Each stick is around P15 to P35 and comes with a cup of sweet or spicy vinegar. They also expanded the offerings to other fried food items like cheese sticks, siomai and shakes. You place your order at the cashier and you will be given a number which will be called out when your order is ready. Check your order as ours was missing a few sticks which they eventually served. Recommended to sit at the tables beside the wall fans to shoo away the flies.

What it has going for it is its brand and name recognition. Mang Larry's has been an institution at UP for quite a while now. The order placement system is also very organized. The food order is properly itemized and priced in the printed order slip. It gets full very quickly nearing meal times. We had to wait a short while after placing our order at around 5:45 PM. Students, office workers, and tourists are the present diners when we ate there. What I did not like was the setting and service. It did come a long way now that it has a dedicated seating area and a covered roof compared to yesteryears when it was only a stand-up kiosk. It would have been nice if they went all the way and cemented the flooring and have chosen more presentable table and chairs. Durint the time we were present dining, we also overheard another customer having their order wrong. He ordered something around 20 sticks, but what came in the take-out bag was only around 16 sticks. It was a few sticks short. Lastly, do not expect to get good value when eating here. The small portions of food on the sticks are a little pricey and can add up quicky with just a few sticks ordered.

Ventured here to savor their renowned street food BBQ. We arrived at 7ish pm, the place buzzed with activity, and we were fortunate to secure a table for our group of seven. The atmosphere was average, fitting for a modest food stall offering budget-friendly fare. The debris on the floor and the overall aesthetic seemed more functional than themed. While the food came at an affordable price and left us content, the dipping sauce isn’t tasty and flavourful & it’s served in small paper cups, it proved inconvenient for an enjoyable eating experience. Potential visitors should plan ahead, anticipating a wait of at least 30 minutes for their orders. Ill skip the sisig, it was too hot when they served which made the meat tough and hard to eat. The rest of their menu is so-so nothing special.

Went here with family for take out and had dinner in Gyud Food just a few meters beside it because all tables were taken. The isaw and bbq are still the bestsellers and food prices are very reasonable. The place is what you can call "pang cowboy" since it seems it was never meant to be presentable but was made just to give customers a roof with tables and chairs for those who want to dine in. Those who know the history or have experienced eating Mang Larry's isaw during the 80s and 90s will most likely want to go and try this place out. But for the uninitiated, you might be better off eating at the food park a few meters beside it.

This is my second time eating here. My favorite is the inihaw na gizzard, isaw baboy and manok. Today I have tried their Avocado Shake for the first time and it was delicious. Unlike other avocado shakes, theirs do not have the bitter aftertaste. The first time we ate here it was last year mid-pandemic and there are only few people eating. Today, we ate here again and it was full. All tables have customers and we had to wait for 20 minutes for our order. There is one problem with the place the tables and chairs are unorganized, uncoordinated and unflattering. Food 10/10 Place 8/10 Ambience 10/10
