The location is at the 2nd floor and need to climb a narrow stairs to reach this cozy Vietnamese restaurant. My sister and I ordered THAI MILK TEA, GOI CUON (fresh salad roll), BANH XEO (Viet crepe), BUN GA NURONG (Vermicelli Bowl with caramelized chicken) and their Sunday special BAHN MI CHAO (similar to shakshuka).
FOOD: Our favourite was the BAHN MI CHAO with it's sweet flavors from the caramelized onions, fresh tomatoes, and homemade sauce. The BUN GA NURONG has a fresh taste with it's fresh veggies and noodles, but could use a bit more sauce and the chicken is a bit dry, but still really tasty. The BANH XEO has an interesting texture cus of its use of rice flour batter. I've never tried it before so it's a pleasant surprise. The GOI CUON is more on the chewy side and personally, I'm not too fond of this, but each roll is packed with fresh ingredients. The THAI MILK TEA was given to us with it's ingredients separated and it was amazing to see it turn to its orange color after mixing it! The milk tea is not overly sweet and not as heavy in the stomach.
SERVICE: The staff are attentive and friendly. They offer water refills and table clean-ups unprompted. The food is served around 10mins of waiting. They served the appetizers then our main course both at the same time (as seen in the pictures).
ATMOSPHERE: We sat by the window and have the view of the streets. The place is neat and cozy, with Vietnamese-inspired decors. Their washroom is clean and have tissues and bidet available.
Overall, would definitely come back again to try the other menu items and special...
Read moreSaigon Pho in Maginhawa brings authentic Vietnamese flavors to the heart of the city. On our visit, we sampled a variety of dishes, each offering a taste of Vietnam’s vibrant cuisine.
The Cha Gio (Vietnamese spring rolls) were crispy, golden brown, and packed with flavorful filling, complemented by a tangy dipping sauce that added the perfect balance. The Pho Bo (beef pho) had a deeply flavorful broth, with tender beef slices and fresh herbs that made every spoonful comforting and satisfying.
The Banh Mi Traditional Pork was a delightful mix of crunchy baguette, savory pork, and fresh pickled vegetables—simple yet packed with flavors and textures. The Com Tam (broken rice dish) was a hearty meal with a nice charred flavor from the grilled meat, while the Ga Xao Sa Ot (lemongrass chili chicken) had a fragrant, spicy kick that paired well with rice.

Read moreUpdate on recent visit: the spicy beef Pho is a bit disappointing, the soup broth is lacking in flavour just a splash of spicy sauce. The beef within is still ok. The Porkchop rice pairing is quite good the chicken rice is also perfectly grilled.
The Bahn Me is still the best-best in town!
Maybe due to the summer and early afternoon time. The place is rather warm and the aircon is hard at work.
Quite a surprise to discover this small but turned out to be one of the best Pho ang Banh mi restaurant around. At very reasonable portions and prices. All fresh herbs comes with your orders. Its light and delicate balance of flavors is a gastronomic delight. Even the hot or cold Coffee is superb! If this does not satisfy your taste standards then you have to go to vietnam. On our second visit. Tried the seafood Pho ( the beef is much much better) the pork "salad" is good. Do ask for additional vinigarette. The chicken rice is also good. Grilled to almost perfect! The chicken Banh mi...
