Shao Kao Grillery — Restaurant in Quezon City

We are Shao Kao regulars. Have been coming here since 2019.

The food quality is great for the price. The shao kao flavor is distinct, making their vegetables and meats taste amazing. Works great by itself, with rice, dipped in soy sauce or with chili oil. Up to the your preference. The sauces are available in a section beside the cashier.

The food is always well cooked. The only menu item that fluctuates in quality is the Pork BBQ. Sometimes, it's very moist. Sometimes, it's dry and tough to chew.

The vegetable I recommend the most would be the corn, the white onion and the baby potato.

Over the years, the portions have shrunk. A shrinkflation thing, I assume. Still, it's reasonable at the price point. The servers and waiters are polite and do their job well. One of the cashiers looks like she is often in a bad mood

Not so many restaurants offer a whole range of grilled vegetables. So far, they have a whole blackboard to choose from added with the rare selection of lamb (well rare in a way...even if it is not so rare in this part of the metro.) Their selection of grilled vegetables do not exceed Php100 per order and the meats do not exceed Php200 per order except for the lamb shoulders which is Php220.

It is grilled foods. The food has a nice aroma and it all has a nice texture -- from the vegetables to the meats.

Simple grilled food although oddly more Mediterranean or middle-eastern in taste contrary to what the name suggests. It's mostly self service for everything from ordering to getting a water refill but that doesn't mean the staff are lacking in any way.

During our last visit, they noted that our piece of lamb had larger bones (and therefore less meat) than usual, so they gave us an extra piece for free!

No parking available along the street so you'll have to park along an adjacent street and walk. Also no indoor seating so if a little smoke from the grill or from the street below are bothersome then this may not be a good place to eat. Otherwise, you'll just smell a little smoky after dinner but will be full of simple satisfying...
