Gela and I craved something new on our recent trip to U.P. Town Center, so we set our sights on Silantro Fil-Mex Cantina. Hoping for a fiesta of flavors.

We ordered the following dishes:

  1. Beef Nachos (₱380) The nachos came loaded with well-seasoned beef, offering a hearty bite in every layer. They even brought three sauces for dipping: garlic, guacamole, and spicy chili. While Gela went for the fiery kick of the chili, I personally loved the garlicky punch and tang. However, the cheese fell short – stretchy and a bit artificial compared to the melty goodness I prefer.

  2. Rib Finger (₱190) The mashed potato was the clear star, smooth and flavorful enough to steal the show The ribs themselves, unfortunately, missed the mark. We requested them well-done, which resulted in a dry and chewy texture even with the accompanying gravy.

Overall, Silantro Fil-Mex offered glimpses of greatness, especially in the sauces and mashed potato. But the unmelted cheese on the nachos and dry ribs left us wanting more. A service charge is added to the bill, so keep that in mind when budgeting for your visit. While I wouldn't call it a complete miss, there's definitely room for improvement on certain dishes. Next time, I'll stick to the mashed potato and try the ribs medium-rare to see if they...

I had dinner here with some friends, and wow, this is hands down the best Mexican food I've ever had. I've tried a few places in the Netherlands, but nothing compares to this. We walked in past 6pm, and there was no cue.

As a starter for the whole group, we ordered 2 portions of the nachos, and they tasted good. I ordered two Lucha Tacos—one with chicken and one with carnitas. Even though the tacos are supposed to be served cold (I didn’t know), it was still absolutely delicious. The tacos were fresh and generously topped with lettuce. The chicken was definitely my favorite. I tried a bit of the chicken quesadilla from a friend, and the presentation was great. The fries tasted lovely, but the cheese in the wrap isn’t to my taste.

The staff was incredibly friendly, and I loved the atmosphere. The interior design suits the place perfectly, and the music added to the vibe. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu. Keep up the...

I was not expecting the food to be great at first impression and from the raves I have been hearing, I told myself this dinner better be good! The restaurant offers a few choices of menu. Everything we ordered was delicious, tasty, and satisfying. Garlic mayo and guacamole made the burrito extra savory. One thing I like about the place is their quesadillas. I like it a lot. The only downside to Silantro is that because it was just a tiny place, the waiting time to be seated can get very long. Once we arrived, we saw the people in groups outside waiting to be seated. But hey - if you are on a budget and would want to get your money's worth, then it is going to be worth the trip. If you are looking for a place to dine and chat - this will be the place to go to since folks are so happy munching on their food that most are conversing at the top of their lungs. In my opinion, though, it was worth the wait...
