This is already my second visit, and I didn't want to come back because of their very poor service. However, I like their food so I took a chance that the service had improved. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed because we waited so long without anyone approaching us to take our order.
I ended up having to go to them to give our order. Furthermore, we couldn't finish all the food, so after we were done, I asked for a takeout container and we were willing to pack it ourselves. However, we waited for an extremely long time with no one coming to assist us, perhaps because we had already paid at that point. I asked my son to go and request it, and he went to the counter but still no one approached us.
To make matters worse, as we were leaving, my mother, who is a senior citizen and has difficulty walking like me (we both use a cane), slipped because of the wet floor outside due to the rain. One of my sons helped her to the car while the other son was supporting me as I struggled to go down the four steps outside the store. Their guard didn't even flinch.
I wish they had at least assisted us because it was really difficult for us to go down, especially for my mother. When we arrived, my son asked the guard where we could park, but he ignored us and went inside. Maybe it's not allowed to ask or it's not part of his job, I don't know, but I let it pass. However, when we were leaving the restaurant, I hoped for a little compassion, but there was none, just...
Read more1)oyster cake cooked like omelette and very few small oysters, flat like pancake 2)pineapple rice too dry like garlic rice, not served on pineapple shell, only few pineapple, don't see any viands in the rice, not recommended 3)salted egg shrimp coz prawns are small, too much sauce & salted egg taste not accentuated 4)fish fillet tausi is deep fried and chewy, like that from Hap Chan. Many Banawe restos serve great Fish fillet tausi, except this resto 5)spinach soup, no viand also, only green soup and egg 6) Xiao long bao assorted is ok, but seemed pricey at P330 when compared to the Angel's pizza 14" which is P690 only and also buy 1 take 1, which was eaten by our neighboring table 7) Belgian choco Xiao Long Bao is ok, only 3 pcs
Food was served really fast, as all are deep fried. But the billing was terribly slow, and we were the only ones ordering Chinese during that time. Almost everyone is eating Angel's Pizza due to their big size and low price of buy 1 take 1
Tien Ma cooks need to redo their recipes and make the food at par with Banawe Chinese restos.
There r only 2 parking slots, as the motorcycles of Angel's Pizza occupied the entire front, like in all...
Read moreBeen having Tien Ma delivered for the past few years, tried dining inside the restaurant and I am glad to say that they do not skimp on quantity and quality if you opt for food delivery.
The restaurant has a sort of canteen setup inside where they share the space with the neighboring Angel's pizza, sort of a communal eating space. I do not consider this a negative, as it did not impact service, food quality, or the general atmosphere of the place.
With regards to the food, the fried rice is as goof as it has ever been, their fried rice tends to fill you up more than your other typical fried rice options. The honey walnut chicken was sweet and crispy, while the chicken was only slightly overdone. The tofu stew is my go to order and I always enjoy the flavor of the dish, but if you prefer the fish element, I would recommend the fish fillet in black bean/tausi sauce dish, as the fish used there is superior in taste and texture. The xiao long bao was also pretty good, nothing special, but it tastes as good as the other go-to establishments who sell xiao long bao.
Overall, a great option for food delivery, and not a bad place to have sunday lunch...
