Akatsuki 11 Japanese Restaurant offers a culinary experience that strikes a harmonious balance between affordability and delectable flavors. Akatsuki 11 pleasantly surprised with dishes that were not just budget-friendly but also incredibly tasty. The flavors danced on my palate, each bite bringing forth a symphony of tastes that can be aptly described as mouthwatering, scrumptious, and delightful.

However, the inviting flavors were accompanied by an atmosphere that left something to be desired. The dimly lit surroundings, coupled with an unexpected presence of mosquitoes and flies, did slightly detract from the overall dining experience. The Filipino novelty songs playing in the background, while unique, added a peculiar touch to the ambiance.

On the brighter side, the accommodating service provided by the staff managed to redeem the overall experience. The personnel were attentive and friendly, ensuring that every diner felt welcomed and...

Review: Japanese Restaurant in Retiro near Banawe, Quezon City

I recently visited this Japanese spot in Retiro near Banawe. The place is simple and clean, but it falls short of delivering an authentic Japanese experience.

We ordered the spicy tonkotsu ramen, kani salad, volcano roll, and crispy California roll. The food wasn’t bad, but it was clear that it didn’t capture the true essence of Japanese cuisine. If you’re someone who’s accustomed to authentic Japanese flavors, this might not be the place for you.

There’s limited parking space, which can be a bit inconvenient. The staff, unfortunately, weren’t particularly friendly, which also affected the overall experience.

Overall, it’s a passable option for a quick Japanese meal with affordable price but not one I’d highly recommend for Japanese...

A somewhat nondescript, would qualify as a hole in the wall if it wasn't along a main thoroughfare, Japanese restaurant.

The first floor only has 4 to 5 counter seats but there is a second level with more seating. The upper floor was nice and cool though do be careful when going up and down the stairs.

Service was quick, and everyone was nice and polite.

Food came out in the right order and at the right temperature. Though the okonomiyaki took a little longer than the rest to get to us, it wasn't that bad a wait. Everything was flavourful and the portions were apt for the price.

Will definitely go back to try the other items on their menu!

Peep the photos to see their salmon sashimi, unagi maki, tamago, tantanmen, miso ramen, and okonomiyaki.

*PS: Parking out front is very limited so plan...
