Update 5/4/25 - Hamburg got smaller and service much slower.
UCC offers a slice of Japan with its menu that resonates with the cozy charm of a typical Japanese family restaurant. The diverse offerings include Japanese curry, various sandwiches, along with coffee, cakes, and ice cream, catering to a range of tastes and preferences.
During my visit, I opted for the cheese hamburg curry and the clubhouse sandwich. The cheese hamburg curry maintained its usual high standards, delighting with its rich flavors and generous topping of cheese—a consistent favorite. However, the clubhouse sandwich didn't live up to past experiences. It was noticeably lacking in the hearty fillings it once boasted, particularly the bacon and tomatoes, which diminished the overall satisfaction of the dish.
The service at UCC remains a strong point; the staff is polite and attends to customers promptly, ensuring a smooth dining experience. The decor contributes positively to the ambiance—minimalist, clean, and well-lit, it creates a serene space that complements the dining experience.
Overall, while UCC continues to excel in certain areas, the inconsistency in some of its offerings like the clubhouse sandwich suggests room for improvement. Nonetheless, its strengths in service and a pleasant environment make it a worthwhile visit for those seeking a casual Japanese...
Read morei’ve been going to this UCC branch for years and every time i come there’s always 4-10 items on the menu that are not available / out of stock - it’s always the same items too. this has been a problem for YEARS and i don’t understand how this issue hasn’t been addressed yet.
servers were nice but seemed confused about our orders and what was available. they kept saying the items were available then would come back saying they ran out already, so we would need to find new items to order. wasted a lot of time on this.
they were also not attentive. when i arrived, i stood at the door for a few minutes before someone assisted me. there were quite a few waiters and not a lot of guests so i don’t think there’s really an excuse there.
place was not that great either. i think they renovated recently so interiors look newer, but place still felt dirty. lots of crumbs, dirt and black marks on the floor. plus seems there was a leak so there was a big puddle on the floor and one of the large tables inside couldn’t be used.
honestly food here is not bad and it’s in such a convenient area so i hope they can improve on food availability, service and overall ambience so that it’s actually a bit more pleasant to come here.
update: hamburg curry was good but baked...
Read moreHad a great dining experience at UCC Vienna Café located at Temple Drive! I ordered the Omurice with Salmon and Shrimp and the Seafood Salad—both dishes were absolutely delicious. The omurice was rich and creamy, with a flavorful sauce that perfectly complemented the salmon, shrimp, and vegetables. The serving was generous and really satisfying.
The seafood salad was fresh and vibrant, topped with crispy prawns, kani sticks, sweet corn, and a colorful mix of greens. It was light yet packed with flavor—perfect as a starter or even on its own.
We also took out the Biscoff French Toast, and I’m so in love with it! The toast was buttery and soft, drenched in thick Biscoff sauce and sprinkled with crushed Biscoff crumbs. It completely satisfied my Biscoff cravings—definitely a must-try!
Overall, I’m very happy with everything we ordered. I’ll definitely be coming back to UCC Vienna Café—the food, portions, and flavors were...
