Chowking — Restaurant in Rizal

this famous-for its exaggerated-Christmasy-lights mall would have been superb had it acquired some household brands as tenants. nevertheless, its local brands contribute to its unique charm. it has the making of a great afternoon destination though: perfect cold temperature; it's got the basics such as hardware store, pharmacy, cafés, and others; and free parking... whooah!

what i find fascinating in this mall is despite its seemingly small size, is its support to local community events. it frequently hosts inter-school competitions, provincial products exhibitions and the likes. one time, i caught automobile sounds & lights, and i got fascinated by ingenuity of the exhibitors. the other day, a show of tanning products which claim they are organic and environmentally friendly.

It is near our house we can almost walk to it. It is small sized mall so you don't tire too much getting to your destination. It has grocery store, BDO atm, DIY store which I go to often. Delicious BBQ chicken restaurant with affordable price. Cp shop, lotto outlet, arcade, eat all u can and chill resto to have a bucket while enjoying the overlooking view. Though the parking lot is quite dark during the day, it is free! Yes, no need to pay parking ticket like other malls. Some say that once the adjacent mall is finished, it will have movie theaters in it. So looking forward to that. And when it does please make a space for jeepney stops like other malls do to avoid...

the place does have a lot of potential. BUT, parking is a bit of a problem if you go there after 10AM. most likely, you'll have to use the basement of which a large portion is "reserved" for use by the BPO housed in the upper floors of the mall. (i was a call center agent for around 13 years of my life, and all that time i had to PAY for parking, whether it be in makati, eastwood, tiendesitas, or wherever. why agents are given free parking slots -- considering their higher salary grade! -- is beyond me.) that's why if no parking is available, i simply head on to SM Cherry-Antipolo, which is quite near, or even to SM Masinag, which has more shops AND more...
