Read moreI've been wanting to dine at Vieux Chalet for the longest time, finally was able to go here for lunch today. It's location is quite hidden from the main road; you'll have to traverse the narrow part of Taktak road to get here. There is no dedicated parking space, so you'll have to park along the street. It's quite safe though.
It has a homey feel, since it is originally a house made into a restaurant. The overlooking view of the city is seen by the window area. It's better to have a reservation in advance, specially if you'd like a table by the window.
The staff are very accommodating and friendly. They know their menu well & give good recommendations. They are also attentive & they don't dilly dally. Service is good.
The food is superb & the servings are more than enough. We ordered a set meal for 1 (Meister: consists of soup or salad, steak, dessert, & coffee or tea) as well as a set meal for 2 (Mon Cherie: consists of soup or salad, sausage platter, 2 main dishes with chioces of fish & meat dishes to choose from, choice of 2 desserts, & coffee or tea). They also give complimentary toast with tomato & cheese dip. The quality & quantity of the food is worth it. Wait time is adequate.
This is a good place to dine with loved ones, specially during special occasions. Will definitely dine here again to try the other items on the menu & to appreciate the...
Read moreit’s been a really long time since my first visit in vieux chalet around 2006. i found out my mom got to know this place through ourawesomeplanet then. we’d go on road trips and eat out somewhere nice and it was a nice sunset day. it was still an open venue then and you can see the nice city lights at night. i remember being seated by the window before.
i can’t remember as much before but that we did have pizza and pasta. the vibe was homey and it’s still homey now, the service warm and inviting. now the venue has got a few improvements as it is a closed four wall space, with even more paintings adorning the place. they even have saturday cooking workshops which sounds really fun.
this time around we got the following: •swiss platter — comes with an assortment of ham and bread, spreads and jams like assorted yellow fruits and pate, dried fig and mandarin, cookies, tomatoes, and butter of course. •fettuccine padilla — creamy and rich, with ham and mushrooms. also comes with a side of 2 bread buns •seven-cheese grilled pizza — the pizza was a bit too oily, probably from the assortment of cheeses, but still tasted good and cheesy as it’s named •salad of the day — putobumbong inspired
their homemade breads are really good. the quality of the food and service overall even better. would love to come back here again with the family and possibly a...
