There are a lot of good things to say about this place, first shout out to Eli, Claire and Meg for doing their best in making sure we had a good experience, as a matter of fact they are the only reason I gave a 4 star rating instead of something lower. First: The atmosphere was okay, a typical hotel restaurant/bistro it was noisy but thats just a personal preference I tend to not like noisy places. Parking is limited but the friendly guards will help you when needed so don’t fret.
The tables are mismatched and a bit awkward, it felt more of a table set for interviews than for dining.
The food: We ordered the Kevin burger, chowder soup, and of course the triple chocolate champorado, Each one of these items was amazing, The soup was creamy, flavorful and delicious. The burger was great first we were surprised that it was a double patty, the fries that came with it you can tell that it was a potato that they prepped and fried for the sake of your order so of course it was delicious. Now the champorado, let me preface this with the fact that I HATE champorado, I never had it and liked, till now it was soo good !
Now our experience: We arrived there at 6 pm took a number for our line we were number 61 the line was at 52. They had a nice waiting area with a tv and the user name and password for wifi too. Staff were friendly as well.
While waiting we were asked if we would like to pre-order before getting to our seats so it would be a shorter waiting time an idea which we thought was amazing.
Our order was 2 Kevin’s burger and 1 soup and 1 champorado.
We got seated at 8, we got the first burger at 08:05 , got the champorado at 8:33 got the soup at 8:40 of course at the time I was starving, imagine that it was a 2 hour drive to get there and another 2 hour to get seated I was STARVING so my wife couldn’t finish her burger, I ate my soup the rest of her burger, and the rest of the champorado, called the waiter to cancel the other burger and get me the cheque. Of course at the moment i said that the other burger was ready, i politely told them that serving the 2nd burger 50 mins after the first one and this was even pre-ordered was not conducive of a great experience.
They understood removed it from my bill i paid and left. So why did i share this ? I saw that they have improved their service based on the reviews Ive read, I just felt that this was more an organizational issue rather than a staff issue, cause who in their right mind would 2 burgers 50 min apart ?
Just keep this in mind before you go there: 1- long lines (the champorado is good so it worth it)
2- the output of the kitchen has no rhyme or reason (think of it as food roulette you don’t know what you are getting first or if there is...
Read moreWe came in-between the hours of 4-7pm. Ordered their viral triple chocolate champorado, it was great. The South Cotabato tsokolate was bitterly-yummy mixed with the either heated evaporated milk or fresh milk, either of which it goes perfectly along with thr light powdered milk. The usual pinoy combo with champorado is tuyo or dried fish, the small ones, sardines or herring but this time its the danggit, rabbit fish the small rouded ones. You'd have to phase yourself to pair every spoonful of champorado with danggit because you'll get lost with how yummy it is. The only downside for this dish is there wasn't much malagkit or glutinous rice. Maybe the waiter poured too mich milk for the whole presentation, maybe it's better for the customer to do it to balance the rice and the choco. I guess thats just the only point of improvement.
Unfortunately the Philly Style Roast Beef Sandwich wasn't available, that lead me to their best selling Riley's Chicken Sandwich, it was also a let down. The whole chicken sandwich is a meal in itself, the fries were big, moderate serving but the chicken seemed cooked too well the juicyness was lesser than how it should be, tasted like plain chicken with the occasional jalapeno and lettuces in between. Honestly, KFC's Zinger or Popeye's US Spicy Chicken is a better deal. I hope this doesnt reflect to their roast beef because I will definitely go back with bettee expectations to try it.
We also had their Bacon Sliders, that thing isn't a dissapointment, well maybe the small size is. Thats how you make sliders, order that and absolutely not for sharing.
The nacho dip is scrumptious, spicy but goes well with their margarita. I think they forgot to put syrup in the Mrs. margarita because it was just ice and gin. They were kind enough to provide syrup. I'd suggest next time to just replace the drink and do it right again. Sometimes its better to have it right than do it yourself to match your taste. It kinda looses the whole vibe to it.
Their halo-halo was so creamy it satiated my consistently famished friend, too much gulaman too.
The service is really good and sincere, kudos to well trained-hard working food service workers!
They have ample parking and attendants to help you find a parking slot.
Their waiting area for The Bistro is in the same floor as the hotel reception, I don't doubt that expansion is on the way. It's just a awkward to be seated, eating while a row of waiting customers watches you eat. That's also why it's better to be seated in their basement level. Temperature's more moderated down there.
Overall, it was a nice visit. A couple of miss but nothing to not expect better for a nice...
Read moreI WOULDN’T RECOMMEND this restaurant to anyone! Absolutely not worth spending a penny. Very disappointed with the service and the food!
We arrived today (March 20, 2025) around 12:30 in the afternoon for lunch coming from pampanga, we were sat upstairs (where the main restaurant was) around 1:00pm as soon as we sat we placed our order straightaway, we waited as we were told that the serving time will be between 25-35mins. 45mins past no one bothered coming to our table to say that our food is delayed we have to call the server a few times to follow up our food order, drinks came around 20mins after placing it. As we follow up our order the server didn’t bother coming back to us to tell us what was going on with our food. After a few attempts to follow up with our food 1hr later the food arrive one by one but ALL DISHES that we ordered came in cold, the steak looks dry as they separated the sauce, came in cold. It also says on the menu it is 500g thats why it’s 2,999php worth but when i received it didn’t look 500g to me, they cut it into strips as shown on the picture and was blant. The Roasted chicken that my mom ordered was cold and dry, no sauce. What’s worst was the last dish that came which was more than 1hr and a half delayed was the Tocino slab. Apparently the way the meat was cooked was 5hrs curing prep etc. But it is pork, we can tell if the meat was not cooked properly as it came in slobby, it didn’t look the way it’s supposed to be on the picture from the menu. The only worth probably spending there was the tripple chocolate champorado, everything else is not worth a single penny to spend, not even the frappe that we ordered was blant.
Service wise the staff are not welcoming, no one is bothered to check if everything was ok, no one is updating us about our food order, no one explained why there was such huge delayed with our food and when it came it was cold and tasteless. To think that there were 7 of us and we ordered quite a few stuff, server even made a mistake charging us double but only served one of the champorado.
The fact that other tables were being served first even if we sat and ordered first, manager didn’t bother coming to us to check if everything was ok but yet got time to go to other tables and check on them to think that We spend 10,699php for worthless food. Definitely not coming back!
There were more than 8 servers upstairs, the restaurant was not full yet we waited 2hrs...
