Dwino's Restaurant — Restaurant in San Fernando

Lengthy post. Bear with me.

We ended up celebrating Lolo's birthday at Dwino's Restaurant. There were also three other February celebrants in our party Me, my sister, Genie and our Tita Vicky. We were a group of 14 people, plus 3 kids.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much. I was just relying on the recommendations of friends. You see, we are a very demanding group of people who have discriminating palates but we always keep in mind the price we are paying for. After all, we own a restaurant too. Many times. So this is a detailed review of our experience.

Dwino's offers Four Main Dishes: Steak, Bellychon, Ribs and Sashimi

Steak was okay. It was tender but a little unseasoned for me but still, steak is steak. According to my uncle who is a restaurateur, this is hanging tender, which is a second cut of beef that can be used as tenderloin and that it was USDA.

Bellychon was really good. The skin was still crunchy, surprisingly, even towards the end of our time there.

Ribs! Oh my gosh, those ribs. Last ribs I had these tender was Relish Ribs. I miss that place. The ribs here are really, really good. Fall off the bone good. We took a short clip. Check it out.

All three of these are check marks. My siblings and I are very carnivore to the core people. We must've eaten their one week supply.

Sashimi was good. The salmon was creamy, the tuna, there were creamy ones and there were those that fell a little below. But I must've eaten a whole plate, so no complaints here.

All right moving on. Sushi, good variety. Could improve. Salad bar is good as well.

Seafood soup and seafood chowder were really, really good. According to my cousins, they must've eaten two to three servings. The shrimp was fresh, so my Lolo is happy because shrimp is his favorite.

I avoid anything saucy in buffets, so I really can't comment on any other food they had there because I stick to the carving station. 😂

They had mixed veggies, corn, marble potatoes, mashed potatoes, fried rice. All the carbs I avoid when I eat buffet.😂

All the fried stuff needs improvement. Tempura didn't cut it for me. Plus, they didn't have tempura sauce, which was a big disappointment. The fish fillet was really good. The fish was fresh and tender. Everything else was just average.

Pizza station could do better. It lacked sauce and toppings. The upside to this is my Mom requested a pesce pizza because she doesn't eat meat, so they cooked a whole shrimp pizza for her. Now, that's customer service.

Juice, they had three kinds, iced tea, red iced tea and I forgot what the other one is. They had water, of course. And they also offered us coffee.

Dessert station. This is where my heart really sank because all the carb avoiding I save it for pastry and they didn't have any. They had fresh fruit, watermelon, singkamas and pineapple. They had a few kinds of panna cotta. They had sherbet.

Overall, would I go back? Just for the four main heavyweight dishes alone, I would. This is a meat lovers haven. And especially the ribs, if you love ribs, this is the place you stuff yourself with all the ribs you want.

I should also add the customer service is superb, bar none. The servers were on their toes, quick and attentive. Sir Richard, kudos to a job well done. Mind you, we were a group of 14 very demanding adults.

The place is gorg as you can see. The interiors are stunning. We felt right at home here.

Amazing experience here today. Food was ok, I think enough for a buffet serving. Ambiance is good too. Place is not in a strategic area but still accessible. Food servings are good too. Mixture of kapampangan-pinoy, American, Japanese. But the best part of the dining experience is their service. The staff are so accommodating, which is not really present on usual buffets. They initiate, not waiting to be asked to think that our time is peak and the restaurant is full. They are all cool from the manager, to the crew even the guard.
