I brought my family here because we heard that bulalo isn't just their specialty; their fried chicken is also a must-try.
As a parent with kids who aren't keen on fancy or local cuisine, finding a suitable place to dine in Tagaytay can be quite challenging.
TASTE: We decided to indulge in a variety of dishes, including Bulalo, Fried Chicken, Grilled Boneless Bangus, and a comforting cup of Hot Chocolate.
Bulalo: The flavor is decent, striking a balance between not too salty and not bland. However, it's reminiscent of the typical bulalo you'd find at any other restaurant in Tagaytay. Despite the chilly weather, the soup doesn't yield excessive oil. Additionally, they offer unlimited soup if that's what you're craving.
Fried Chicken: Upon serving the fried chicken, the enticing aroma of freshly fried goodness immediately stimulates the appetite. The crispy skin offers a delightful texture, while the tender chicken meat makes you wanna bite more. Though not overwhelmingly salty, there's a subtle hint of saltiness from the marinade, enhancing the flavor profile.
Grilled Boneless Bangus: We thoroughly enjoyed the taste of their bangus. The grilled texture is perfectly done, not overcooked. However, one drawback was that they served us non-boneless fish. Typically, I prefer boneless bangus, as advertised. I suggest they improve this aspect of their service.
Hot Choco: This is a tablea-style chocolate, served alongside evaporated milk and two sachets of white sugar. It's a suitable option for you to customize the taste of your hot chocolate.
VALUE FOR THE MONEY: Unfortunately, the prices displayed on Google Map photos are not updated. For the most up-to-date menu prices, please refer to the section images I uploaded dated today (Feb 12, 2024). As for the dishes we ordered, they offer great value for the money.
AMBIANCE: Arriving around 9 PM, we were aware that many establishments in Tagaytay were already closing. However, this restaurant is a must-visit if you're craving bulalo late at night. The restroom was acceptable, though not impeccably clean, likely due to heavy customer traffic earlier. Additionally, ample parking space is available, ideal for accommodating large groups or families. The traditional kubo setups add a touch of Filipino ambiance as you enjoy their delicious offerings.
SERVICE: A 5% service charge will be applied to your bill. The staff members are polite. They are also willing to accommodate your requests, if feasible.
Note: They only accept Cash or GCash...
