Tipanan Restaurant — Restaurant in Tagaytay

First of all, this was an unexpected treat. We were headed for other restaurants but all were on the other side of the road. We ended up here.

First, the place is beautifully decorated and very pleasing to the eye. It reminds me of a resort. Second, the food was great and if you're having bulalo, the hot broth comes with free refills. The crispy pata was crunchy and hearty. And unlike the "Big House" or "Legacy", getting a seat or even finding parking space are not a problem. I will definitely come back to try their other dishes.

We had a family bonding there last Easter Sunday. We were with our sister , a special child having a tantrum. The waiters were accommodating. They allow is to sit in the buffet area where it was more conducive for my sister to calm down. We loved all the dishes we ordered , except for the Pinakbet which was too salty for us . The waiters were all accommodating and easy to call when needed. Then we transferred to Facio, a coffee area where we tried different types of beverages and all were excellent. This resto is all about ambiance. That’s it. We were the only ones in the restaurant on a weekday lunch hour. There were a lot of wait staff around as well as kitchen staff. We were celebrating a birthday, and they asked for an identification as proof. We were then told that they don’t do anything extra for birthday celebrants. So we didn’t get why they even bothered to ask for the ID of the birthday celebrant.

As for the food, it was satisfying but nothing special. Serving size was decent. It’s a good place to eat once, but I wouldn’t come back simply because there’s nothing special in terms of the taste.
