I would like to share a regretful incident that happened at Mr. Kimchii in Tagaytay last Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at around 2PM. Also about a very discourteous Mr. Kimchi Tagaytay supervisor who called me not to pacify the incident but instead insulted me. Here’s what happened…
My knees got burned while eating at their restaurant, it was really painful. I even informed one of their staff about the incident but I don’t think they really understand what happened to me since I never insisted nor seen the extent of my burn at that moment. I only managed to see how bad my burn only upon reaching home. This prompted me to post a picture of my burned knees together with the story behind on their Facebook Page. However, they deleted my post so that it cannot be seen by their patrons. I have no intention to create a negative impression about the Mr. Kimchi Tagaytay. My post is to just to raise awareness as well as to serve as a positive feedback for them to improve their service and facilities.
Below is my original post which they deleted on their page.
"This post is for everyone's awareness. My knees got burned yesterday when we were eating here at Mr. Kimchi.
It was really painful! No one informed me or a least a caution warning sign that the stove assembly under the table is uncovered and is extremely hot.
I wonder what if kids play under that table and burned their skin? Or how about those people who have long legs?? It is very dangerous!
The management should do something about it. They should put something to cover underneath the stove. Or if they can't do it, they should inform customers to be extra careful!
Hay my knees hurt!"
Fast forward, with them already saw my post on their page. A certain Esteve Razon who introduced himself as the Supervisor of the restaurant. He asked if he can call which I obliged.
He then called me but instead of being courteous and apologetic, he then immediately put the blame on me without having to hear the actual story. He even uttered words like "Ma'am dapat po kasi pag kakain naka sit up straight, maayos ang upo" among others.
He even lectured me about do's and don'ts while eating! Imagine, a restaurant staff scolding you that you should have done this and done that. He is insisting me that it is all my fault and that they are not to be blamed. Nakipagtaasan pa sya ng boses sa amin. Imagine, ako na ang naaksidente, kami pa ang parang mali! We even can't butt in because he keeps on putting the blame on me. With him shouting throughout our phonecall, this prompted me to shouted back "Sige ikaw na magsalita! Ayaw mo kami pakinggan sige ikaw na!"
We asked him if we can talk to his manager or the owner of the restaurant. But he said that there is no manager at the moment while the owner is busy. Then he suggested pa nga na we can still talk to the manager who resigned na! Kasi may backpay pa naman daw na kukunin so technically hindi pa daw sya resigned!
Before then end of our conversation, he promised that the he will immediately provide us an update if we can speak to the manager and the owner.
However, upon checking if there are any updates, I found out that Mr. Razon already blocked me on messenger. This gesture is a clear indicator that he is not helping us. Therefore, this incident may never ever reach to the rightful staff as well as its owner.
I am hoping that this open letter may reach the upper management and the owner of Mr. Kimchi Tagaytay. May this also reach Tagaytay City Tourism Office for appropriate intervention to prevent a similar incident to happen again.
Thank you.
PS: I can't also tagged their Fb page. I think...
Read moreWhen we got there we were all excited because I've waited so long to eat here since I live abroad and I always see post about this restaurant. The lady who assisted us in reserving a table was nice. We requested a table where we can see the view so we waited for few minutes for them to set it up. At first we were enjoying the first servings of the meat and we requested another batch and ask if they can separate the beef from the pork because they are serving it in 1 plate only and we have a friend who is not allowed to eat pork (We ordered marinated beef and pork). the third time we ordered we asked if we can just have beef because we haven't finish the pork yet and since they are very strict with left overs and they also reminded us everytime we order that be careful with left overs. They said no and that if we order beef it will be partnered with pork automatically which they didn't inform us when we were ordering at that time we were already getting irritated. At first I was very forgiving and understanding from all the mistakes we already notice it at first but I told my friends to just enjoy dont complain anymore. First we requested spoon for the soup they forgot about it I told my friends to just drink it from the bowl. Then next we asked for pineapple juice we were initially given 2 pitcher since we are 7pax, but we didn't get it we waited 30mins. My friend have to go to their station to ask for it and they gave only 1 pitcher my friend told them if they can give 2 since they initially gave us 2 pitcher and 1 pitcher is not enough for 7pax. After that we were already iritated that we lost our appetite with all the thing happen. We are all from the hospitality industry and we know and understand if they dont immediately attend to our needs but waiting for more than 30minutes for something you requested and it didn't happen only once is unacceptable. Then here comes the bill. We avail 4+1 package and we are 7pax so we only have to pay for 6pax. When I got the bill I was a bit shocked that its 5000+ So I took out my phone and calculated it, it should only be 4242 pesos. I asked the waiter and ask how they calculated it and I show it to him how I did it in my phone he took the bill and revised it so if we didn't checked the bill we could have paid for 8pax instead of 6. After that incident I already set my mind to not give a tip anymore. They didn't even said sorry for the mistake and they were also laughing when the waiter show the other waiters...
Read moreVery bad first time experience. Will never go back. Gave 2 stars just because the meat was seemingly endless (this is good) but everything else was bad. They ran out of glasses - I stood beside their kitchen to wait and get one (since one need to drink while eating) but needed to go back because I never got one. I was left standing there lol. As an alternative, I took my daughter's empty mineral water bottle, asked their reception for a pair of scissors and viola! My own unlimited iced tea container lol They ran out of rice - with endless meat and side dishes one would need rice. I got one small bowl to start but needed to stand beside the waiter in the counter to get another one but was declined. I was told that the ones he was preparing was already "reserved" I guess because the new customers that came in still haven't received their rice. Went back to get my bowl so that he can just give me at least one scoop but when I came back, he grudgingly took my used bowl and shoved me a new one with rice. I was polite the whole time. Overwhlemed staff - they all seemed tired. One waiter was showing signs that he was already at then end of his string with responses like "sorry sir wala talagang baso" and would walk away, "reserved na yung rice" and shows signs that he doesn't care if you stand there for an hour because he's not going to give you one. The glasses btw came by the time we were about to leave. This is approxomately one hour after I asked for the glass. Dirty. The place looks mediocre at best but what made it bad is that its dirty. Floors are dirty and sticky, tables are oily (I needed to spray alcohol and wipe off with tissue myself) chairs...
