Went here with a big group of 16 people. Despite coming relatively early (11am), we waited for over an hour to be seated. I understand that they need to vacate enough seats to accommodate us. They decided to fit us in a hut, probably their largest unit, which was located at the very end of their property. We fitted ourselves okay, however we came there to eat comfortably but heck even our plates can't even fit in their tables. When I asked them to reconsider our location, there's this one lady (probably a senior server/team head in her mid to late thirty's) told me in a very apathetic tone that she can only offer an additional serving table so our orders can fit in front of us. I grazed around and noticed a 'better place' in an open area that will definitely fit us all in one seating but she told us that they've already let someone come in and she will offer that spot to them. I responded by telling her that we came in first hence we are entitled to be seated comfortably FIRST before the others that came in later than us. I waited until all our orders come so she can see by her eyes how uncomfortable it would be to eat with our elbows and shoulders touching each other with some plates need to be lifted by hand so we could eat. Our orders came but I was able to communicate with one of the waiters; this man made the right call to let some of us be seated outside so we can at least eat our meal. To my dismay, the long table I was requesting was seated by only 7 guests! I felt like she knew that I will be looking for her for some comfrontation as I didn't saw her the rest of our stay.
Don't get me wrong. I believe their 'bulalo' broth is one of the best if not the best in town. The Taal view in this place is also better than the infamous restaurant that will come to your mind when you say 'Tagaytay' and 'bulalo'. However if you keep treating your customers like this, you will lose REPEAT CUSTOMERS. Word of mouth will also ruin your business opportunity as customers will just shy in and come to their usual 'bulalo hub'. I hope the management will do something about training their 'team/head waiters' to handle these kinds of situations.
Will I recommend this place? Yes and No. Yes if I only have my wife or with a small group; No if going here again with a big group. If you are travelling and you are a family of 10+, do not avoid this place however please ask to be seated in an open-air, long table under the tree. Avoid the huts and if they tell that you can't be seated according to your preference, I advice you to go back to your vehicle ASAP (to avoid traffic and long queues) and go to the nearest...
Read moreThe place is no nice since it has the direct view of taal. There are a lot of trees that give shade to the tables and kubo so even if it is hotter this month than usual, temp is bearable. Some of the ornamental plants are worth taking pictures too. Parking is also spacious. One note though, if you will go there and there is a line in parking, one of you should already go to the guard house and ask for a ticket then proceed to registration. The time on the ticket will be the basis of your place on the queue. This way, you can be early in the queue even without parking yet. This is perfect for dates maybe or chill lunch/dinner.
small table- min spend should be 800 big table- min spend should be 1k small kubo-1500 big kubo -2500
It is like an initial fixed rate that’s consumable then anything excess of that should be paid too of course. If your spending is less than this amount then you will be forced to pay the minimum spend
As for the food, I must say there really is nothing special in my opinion. For me serving is smaller than should be based on the price. Half chicken (fried) is 570 pesos and it looks so small in fact all of them are said to be for 3-4 persons but you may check the pictures attached. Also, most of the food has bell pepper for some reason? bistek has it which is not the usual bistek that we know. Food are also not tender enough compare to other restaurants in tagaytay. Food service time is acceptable, though most of the food are not hot upon serving.
bulalo 850php kare kare 670php bistek 545php pork caldereta 620php pancit canton 395php half chicken 570php
On the other hand, stuff are so friendly, hands down. There might be delays with additional request due to distance between the kitchen and your kubo though. Also, there is no signage that you should get the ticket from the guard first before proceeding to the registration which caused us to be at the end of the queue. We arrived at 12:55 and was seated at 3pm as it is holiday today. Queue for big groups and small group are separate.

Read more2nd time eating at this place. I love the alfresco type of dining. I like the ambiance and a super wide view of the Taal Volcano. Instagramable spots, good food and nice service.
You can dine in a kubo (hut) or a table under the trees with a good view of Taal. The service crew are attentive when you need something. Orders are fast and yummy.
The kubo has 2 types that can accomodate small to large groups, it has a ceiling fan installed with it and a tissue dispenser as well. Same as the dining at a table under the trees, it also can accomodate large and small groups. It's not that hot when dining under the trees because you are shaded and there is a cool windy breeze that is so relaxing.
At night, the trees light up with a cozy romantic feel but no view of taal.
Food is delicious with a good price. My favorite is the fried tawilis its the best. For me, the Bulalo, all taste the same and you can cook on your own. Just order any meat like liempo, crispy pata or lechon kawali then ask the waiter for some free sabaw.. usually the sabaw is the Bulalo soup served in a hot pot.
When dining there is a minimum requirement when ordering. If dining at the small or large kubo you order atleast Php1500 to Php2000 worth of food and drinks. For the tables i think it's around Php800 to Php1000 depends on size of the table used. But the service crew will tell you that on or before ordering.
