Visited this lovely & charming place 4 or 5 times during my recent stay in Bohol. My food orders consisted of the small snacks section. This included the paprika fries, krispy cauliflower, and Greek bruschetta. They have tasty craft beers on tap which was one of my main reasons for coming by. Coffee drinks & shakes were all delicious too. We especially liked the caramel frappe. The view of the sea and dauis across while under a shady acacia tree is so relaxing and picturesque. At night string lights light up the deck area for a quaint feel. Upstairs gives you an elevated view of the sunset and a treehouse feel. So far I've had no complaints regarding the food, their unique flavors that mirror those you can get abroad, & the ambience. However, I did take one star out for their service. In all 4 of my visits I had the same experience. That is that the wait staff are not very attentive. The first time we came there was after a slight sprinkle of light rain. Then tables were a little wet & damp. The waiter saw us using our hands to dry the seats and table and walked away. I tried to get some attention for some help to dry the area with no avail. After getting our orders, in every visit, no napkins were ever provided. The food we ordered were finger foods such as the bruschetta, paprika fries, & fried cauliflower. Also, at each visit, service water was not provided. This would have been a nice gesture to provide customers who order food. Lastly, trying to find a waiter once you're seated is very hard. You will most likely just have to get up to the counter to request your needs or speak loudly whenever a waiter does come by. I do like the food, ambience, & the prices are manageable. However I just wish that they would work on the service aspect to make the experience complete. Will come back again...
Read moreWent here for dinner and the place was gorgeous with a sunset. Live band was awesome albeit with some unnecessary feedback from the sound system. Now with the food, we ordered Bacon and Mushroom pasta, 2 pizza flavors in 1 (Four Cheese and Becca's Dirty Special), Paprika fries and on their Drunk Skillet menu; Pork Bbq rice and Liempo Rice.
Next up, the pizza. The dough itself was reminiscent of a basic frozen pizza dough. Not chewy and doughy but more of a "skyflakes" texture. The Dirty Special was an All Meat flavor and it included some sausage, ground beef and ham. It had stringy cheese and salty meats that was just right for my taste. However, the 4 Cheese Pizza was one of the worst pizzas I ever tried. Dry and bland cheese was on the pizza. I'd steer away from this pizza if I were you.
The fries was literally dusted with paprika and it had a bit of heat. It was great since I liked spicy food and its mayo dip had a hint of lemon. Only thing I wished it had was a bit more seasoning or salt.
Now with the rice meals. The BBQ rice had a very unique presentation I haven't seen before. Only gripe with it was the plate for rice seemed to be too small. Nonetheless, it had 4 sticks total for 230 pesos. More pricey than usual but that's what you expect for food in this area. The marinade for the bbq isn't the usual one you get at your local bbq-han. It had hints of sweetness, sourness like the one you have with ribs. Together with the Pork belly, which was big (half your plate), it was decent enough.
The restaurant had a skeletal crew which meant raising your hand for service took longer than usual. Overall, the ambience and vibe of the place was awesome. However, the basic but pricey food and slow service...
Read moreThe food tasted standard for the price. I still found it yummy but it could definitely be improved upon. I suppose you have to order the right dishes. I really loved the dishes that included chicken in them. And just so you know, they charge extra for takeout. It’s not an overly egregious fee, from what I remember it was something around ₱25 but I just wanted to add this as a heads up for anyone going here since not every restaurant does so and you may not be expecting it.
2-3 of the drinks I thought of ordering listed in the Cold Drinks section of the menu were unavailable, and in the end I settled with a Fruits in Season Juice. You could choose between two fruits and I chose watermelon. It was really good! I’m just a little sad almost half the glass was watermelon slush instead of actual juice you could drink.
If you decide to eat on the tree platform area, you have a lovely view of the water but you can see above the cafe’s wall to the left (left side if you face the water) and view property past the café which is full of trash and it ruins the vibe a bit. Aside from that, The atmosphere/location was great and easily the best part of our experience. It’s a joy to sit and chill by the water while you chat with your friends. I recommend going here sometime in the afternoon or when it isn’t too...
