Wanted to give it 3 stars (standard, nothing bad but also nothing to rave about).
But I decide to go for 2 stars because of the following.
Mango Shake (P150), it didnāt taste 100% mango, it felt there was a mango powder mixed in. That would have been okay if they put just a little more extra condensed milk, but they didnāt, the extra milk would have helped with the mango powder taste. Come to think of it, it felt there was more powder than actual mango.
Barbecue Chicken (P200), I really want to like it and give 4 stars to this one, really love the idea of a medley fusion style chicken, I think the concept is a combination of adobo and cooked it ala barbecue but immediately after they put it on the table I can smell something off, I actually smelled it to make sure, it got me curious, thereās no way they would serve bad chicken.
So I proceeded to eat it, in fact I ate it all, but that marinade they used⦠wished they would change it up to something else, it just didnāt work for me. 2.5 stars
Then came the exit from the driveway, itās not motorcycle friendly, got plenty of loose gravel and the street is on an incline, it needs to be repaired as broken concrete and exposed reinforcement bars can be seen, for cars and suv, no problem, but motorcycle especially heavy bikes, the broken concrete and loose gravel can be an issue.
So overall, 2 stars, but please, the chicken didnāt work for me, the chicken skin was even gelatinous, meaning itās been over marinated ( aka, been awhile in the fridge), also no dipping sauce or condiments.
Im sure this is a good restaurant, just that in my particular...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIts location is true to its nameā"lantaw" is the Bisayan word for "to see" or "to look over." The restaurant, which sits on top of a hillside, has overlooking views of the seas and Panglao Island. The place is spacious and cool even without air-conditioning. It offers traditional Filipino dishes. Food service is quick. Although the taste is nothing out of the ordinary, the dishes are great, considering their affordability. Don't leave the place without trying its Crispy Kare-Kare and Tuna Belly. It has a huge parking area, but it is still not enough for the regular arrival of customers.
It has no WiFi connectivity though, and its wash area and toilet/bathroom are located extremely far from the dining area. This is especially problematic to our senior citizens and Persons With Disabilities (PWDs). And speaking of PWDs, the place has no PWD-friendly pathways and railings. One example is that going to and from the parking area proves to be very difficult because it has loose gravel flooring. And the servers do not ask for Senior Citizen discounts even if they know the customers they served have brought an elderly with them. Lastly, they put their take-aways in plastic bags, a clear violation of the city's No...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNice place for big parties. Good Filipino food, the usually pinoy food done their way. Open air, very spacious, tends to get really humid in the middle area but they have those big industrial fans circulating air. I would ask to he seated near the windows, they have a great view and the occasional breeze. If you can't stand the heat and humidity they do have an air conditioned function room. Favorite dish so far is the Crispy Karekare. The few times I have gone there has been pretty busy. Standard wait time for a group of 4 during the lunch or dinner rush is anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes. They do accept reservations, so plan ahead or get there early if you plan to just walk in during the rush times. Staff is very attentive and also very knowledgeable of their dishes. They do sometimes run out of dishes on the menu, especially the seafood ie sizzling gambas, scallops, etc etc. One thing to ad that probably will already be taken care of by my next visit is the flies. It's a open air restaurant, its pretty unavoidable. They do have...
