Bohol Food Guide: Local-Approved Gems! 🍽️

Ate only once here (Aug 2019), probably never again. Before any meal could arrive, a vanguard of one solitary premature cockroach crawled along the table. Ordered 4 items, only 3 came. The pork seemed like spare trimmings from cheap cuts, with one exceptional bite looking like it came from leftover ham. See picture. The rest were 60-70% fat. Only 3 side dishes: kimchi (ofc), and one with salted/spiced chin. cabbage, and one with soy sauce and onions. The latter two are unfamiliar to me, even after having ate at several korean restos before. Pattern seems to be they are maximizing profits wherever possible, so don't expect too much, probably better options elsewhere. Seafood with tofu soup was quite good though, maybe just order that one.

Ordered the unli pork samgyupsal for 363 PHP. Pork meat quality is disappointing. There is too much fat on the pork that I have to extract it before eating (photo attached). The skin part of the pork is chewy. You need to ask separately for different sauces, they don't give it first hand. Only few side dishes are included. Cleanliness of the place can be improved. Might not come back and choose other samgyupasal restaurants instead. On the other hand, service crew are approachable. Ambiance is comfortable. Other dishes might be good options but I haven't tried yet.

Food is at good quality and value. Price is reaonsable. Korean grill dishes came with free vegetables and kimchi side dish which is free for refilling as well.

It was a good dining experience until the manager came over to turn down the power of our grill without saying anything with an annoyed grumpy look. He then looked around the restaurant hinting that too much smoke was coming from our cooking. Didnt mind if he helped or suggested the way to grill, instead it felt like we did something wrong, he didnt even bother speaking to us. The venilation system could be improved, it feels very hot and humid inside the restaurant. Service is the worst, waitress looking at you like youre asking the wrong questions. Also had a staff cutting his nails publicly while We and other guests are...

I would rate the service 0. The place wants me to pay for the unli-beef price when in fact they only service me the pork one. I understand that it is only a small amount, and it’s on the policy that the initial order would also be the same with other folks you’re dining with on the very same table BUT the manager could’ve acknowledged the situation, also apologized for the confusion in behalf of the crew that has mistakenly served me the wrong meat/order. Instead the manager pinned the blame on ME right away that I did not raised the concern to the crew. Me and my colleagues were there to dine, to enjoy the food, but instead, the result of the situation made us come up to a decision that we would never dine on that place ever again. Please do better on your customer...
