I used to be a regular customer of Figaro up until my most recent visit. We both ordered a half pasta half sandwich meal with a drink - which was a 49 peso add on. Half way through my meal, when I lifted my sandwich up, I noticed there was a light brown hair underneath it. My friend also showed me that she found a hair - of the same colour and size - on her plate too. When we brought this to the attention of the manager, she told us "That is not our hair". I brought it to her attention that I have thick, dark, BLACK hair and my friend has light BLONDE hair. Then she proceeded to backtrack saying that the "bread is not ours" and that they buy it. I asked her how that was my problem at all and she walked away. She brought us back the menu and asked us to choose something else. Naturally, after finding hairs in both our meals, we declined and asked them to just knock it off the bill instead. Upon receiving our bill, we noticed that we were charged 250 pesos (which is full price) for 2 small drinks that were supposed to be a 49 peso add on. We refused to pay the full price as this is not what we had ordered originally. We were never, not once, offered an apology but instead, were accused (by whoever runs their social media team) of being scammers, as they posted about it on their story right after the incident. I have liked their page for over a year and never not once seen a story that they have posted that was not regarding their food/offers. The manager was extremely rude, tried to blame others (and then us!) for finding hairs in our food, and then tried to charge us full price for an add on. As someone who has previous experience working in food and hospitality, this is NOT the way to run a business and treat customers with genuine complaints. For health and hygiene reasons, I suggest you stay away from this place at all costs. I have no idea how the Manager was even hired for her position considering she has the worst customer service skills...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe always go there because it's convenient, and the place is good. I would say their food is okay, but the service is bad. The manager has been rude to us several times, and some of the staff have been unhelpful too.
On one occasion, I found a fly in my drink after just two sips. When I asked for a replacement, the manager responded rudely, saying it wasn't their fault. However, it's not my fault that their establishment has flies, which violates sanitary codes for restaurants and cafes.
Additionally, we were waiting for friends and had already ordered when they arrived. The staff looked annoyed and only gave our friends menus after we had ordered, so I ended up placing another order.
Please take note, as I've had positive experiences at Starbucks, a well-known cafe. Once, I accidentally spilled my drink halfway, and they happily replaced it for me. They are very successful, and customer service is a big part of that.
ps. theyāre only nice to foreign or old customers and very rude to students and young once when in fact we probably spend more than some of the adults there and is there...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI've been to several Figaro branches, particularly in Manila, and this recently opened branch here in Tagbilaran City is a bit of a surprise. This cafĆ© is usually associated with high-end malls and metropolitan business districts, so to find this smack between sari-sari stores, photocopying centers and hole-in-the-wall eateries makes it out of place. And like its other branches, in its attempt to become the Filipino Starbucks, the drinks and food selections are overpricedālike P200+ sandwich overpriced. Even the frappes still taste the same as those you could spend with for half the price.
The place feels small. The parking space is almost non-existent (maybe for motorcycles only?). And biggest concern of all is this: It still uses plastic cutleries, especially for take-aways. Tagbilaran has a decades-old problem with waste management, and to have another establishment contribute to plastic pollution only means things...
