Service was very poor - we sat outside the restaurant at first, we initially engaged with the waiter outside and asked for the menu, at first we were able to get the menu quickly but when the time we would order our food no one was looking at us, and one waiter we asked that we were ready to order. But I think he immediately forgot about us after serving one table inside their restaurant.
We decided to transfer our table inside the restaurant so we will be more visible, but even the waiter at the cashier area saw us raising our hands, it took 3-5 times waiving before they took our orders.
The food - disappointing, we didn't order a lot but here's what we've got.
Solo palabok - not worth it and disappointing. I'd rather buy palabok at jollibee.
Halo-halo special - it seems not so special, no leche flan at the time we ordered so they offer to add more ube halaya, but when it arrived we just got at least half a spoon of ube halaya (normal serving from other restaurant or halo-halo vendor in my opinion). Also lots of ice and very few ingredients. I'd rather order halo-halo at mang inasal it is more flavorful and value for money.
Dynamite spring roll - this is the only thing that we ordered that seems special for me. Delicious for this one.
Overall in my opinion I can't give more than 2 stars for this based on what we had experienced.
Note: Not much of customers when we decided to order and it is also...
Read moreWe usually like the food from Kuya J restaurants. But this has to be the worst Kuya J branch we have ever experienced. We ordered the scallops, pinakbet, garlic rice and the bulalo. The scallops were obviously overcooked so we advised the waiter that it was overcooked and that the texture was already rubbery. The waiterâs response was that only the butter was burnt and that sometimes they serve rubbery scallops, the reason being they cook them from frozen. I was not sure how the waiter thought his response made it acceptable for the quality of the food served to be passable considering eating at Kuya J is not cheap. After we ate we also advised a different waitress that the bulalo was too salty. The waitressâ response was that they do not cook them in the store. Food are delivered to the store in portions. Again, I was stunned by their answers. There were no courtesy for any apology for the food that lacked in quality. Instead, we were met with nothing but excuses and just plain âthatâs just the way it isâ...
Read moreLove Kuya J, but my experience with their branch in Grace Mall was a nightmare. Air Conditioning was turned off, they were seating people on the couches. Service was unbearable, had to ask 3 times before someone approached our table. Mid-meal, we were trying to request them to serve our dessert, but no one was paying attention. A waiter signaled the cashier to approach us. The cashier didnât, he just shouted and asked from the counter about what I wanted đ They gave me the bill shortly afterwards (our meals werenât even halfway finished), he clearly ignored our request to serve the dessert. Upon leaving, by the door, the same waiter told us to take our receipt, I said they can keep or disregard it. They reverted that I should take it as a âremembranceâ. Guessing remembrance for their awful...
