Umami Room / Olive Tree Bar — Restaurant in Zamboanga del Norte

Back in the days, we used to eat here often with my colleagues and we were satisfied everytime with the food, ambiance, and service. However, few days ago, I brought my family here for lunch and I noticed that the place did not get its much needed aesthetic maintenance - curtains over the cooking station looked like rag (probably not replaced or washed since day 1), window blinds' materials chipped-off, paint and counters looks dusty, and air-conditioning could not keep the room cool. I was hopefull that the food still taste good but unfortunately it went downhill along with the place. I would have just dine at Toninos (ground floor) if I have known. Of all the food, their Bento Box...

One of the best Japanese Restaurants I've been to. We almost got lost from searching the place though because we thought it was not inside a hotel.

What struck me the most is the Tempura Udon. Juicy inside, crunchy outside fried shrimp. A broth that smoothly goes down your throat. And a homemade tasty noodles. I'l never forget that taste. Their buffalo wings is a must...

Located inside D’hotel and Suites on the 5th floor. Try the Spicy Tuna Maki! They have a lot of available sushi. Will be back soon to try the sashimi boat. Better to go late afternoon / evening so it’s not too hot and you can enjoy the view...
