I waited a couple of weeks with this review, because I didn't want to make a mistake and potentially harm the business. But I strongly believe reviews are crucial, so here it is: This restaurant offered us probably the worst food I have ever eaten in Białystok. We are very selective with our choices of restaurant, but we didn't venture into this part of town for quite a while, and we are always looking for good food. The restaurant was completely empty when we arrived for lunch, and it is quite large, but for two people drinking coffee. We asked the waitress why, and she said it is always full evenings and late night. We ordered fish and chips, chicken soup with "kolduny" and "babka". Chicken soup, kolduny and babka, mind you, are as Polish and even regional as it can be, so I expected a good home made food. Boy, was I mistaken! I received a brown water, of undefined taste, quite smelly and ugly to look at, actually similar to a water, remaining after washing of a pile of dirty dishes. In that water swam few lonely "kolduny", which were hard as stone and awful tasting. The famous REGIONAL babka, which is a potato/onion/sausage/bacon pie, was even worse. It was a crumbly, salty brick. The sauer cream, which was meant to dip the babka into, was good though 😏. Now let me tell you about "fish and chips" . We were served a plate of mushy, undercooked, originally frozen French fries and pieces of something, which resembled a fish only by strong, penetrant and unpleasant fishy odor. It was a smeary gray substance with breading. Breading, which was by itself so disgusted by the substance it supposed to surround, that it refused to stick to it. We literally couldn't eat it. Well, this place might have hungry club goers and nearby hotel guests as visitors at night, but I would recommend some better places. By the way... I described our experiences to some of my friends, and they all confirmed: FOOD is just awful in this restaurant.
*I received a response from owners, suggesting, that my review was completely bogus. Well, it wasn't. I newer said YOUR babka had sausage in it, I simply tried to describe HOW this dish is customarily made, listing POTENTIAL ingredients used to prepare it. Soup might have had pierożki/small pierogi in it, but I couldn't say for sure what it was, because that part of if was swimming in pieces. By the way... it was served in flat, brown bowl, which makes it look even less inviting. Fish was in TWO pieces. But inside the breading was a gray mass of something. Certainly NOT an intact fish filet.
We had a quite lovely conversation with a very nice waitress. She was the one, who told us about the evening and night diners. Midnight is still "night"...
We paid with credit card, so our visit in your establishment is neatly filed in our bank statements.
By the way... a review is not a dispute. It is a thorough, honest description of a dining...
Read moreI can’t believe some people were disappointed. After visiting Branicki Palace - Museum of history of medicine and pharmacy , we were walking around and stumbled upon this restaurant. With so many choices on the menu, I was initially skeptical, but once we walked in, I knew we were going to enjoy our meal. The vibe was fantastic!
I found this to be one of the best Thai soups in Białystok—what a gem! We tried the tom yum tofu, tom kha chicken, a salad with chicken liver, and quesadillas with chicken. The menu is impressive, offering something for everyone. The table by the cozy, active fireplace was perfect, especially with the awful weather outside—windy, snowy, and freezing. We didn’t want to leave!
If you’re in the neighborhood, definitely check it out—you might be...
Read moreBeen there at the opening as well as a few days ago. At first, I ordered a steak that was incredibly juicy and delightful, finalized with a fruity sorbet. On the contrary to my last visit. This Friday, I went for the vegetarian option. Shrimp salad started with hummus and veggies which was mouthwatering. At every meal, I enjoyed a great selection of red as well as a white dry wine dependant on the dish selection. Moreover, I love the interior design. It is cozy and classy at the same time granting you an immensely pleasant experience to dine at. What I really appreciate is the attitude that the staff guarantees. All in all, it was both times a professional and positive experience with a great vibe. I can highly recommend visiting Atmosfera on more than...
