When I visited, they advertised having "wagyu" steak on special.this sounded tempting so I ordered one. The waiter was very professional and knowledgeable. But I was a bit surprised when I asked for my steak to be done medium-rare like I always do. I was informed that only medium or rare could be chosen, nothing in-between. That was a first. I've never come across restaurant that couldn't do medium-rare. But ok, I went with waiters reccommendation and it was close enough to my liking in terms of doneness. However, I seriously doubt that the portion I was served laid anywhere near wagyu. The steak was a bit chewy but still edible. Definitely closer to the lower end of what I've eaten in the past but far from worst. But definitely not the "melt in your mouth" experience I got when eating even well done wagyu while I was in Japan. Also, having a limited time slot in which to finish our meal, with card showing the time of next reservation sitting on our table, definitely cut into the enjoyment level. Felt like a cafeteria where you're supposed to come, eat and free up space for next person. I've dined at fancier places where no one rushed me out the door. Nice place...
Read moreThis tiny place has just two tables, short menu and is a part of a butcher shop of the same name, located two doors down. As one would expect from an establishment called "The art of meat", the meat served was of marvelous quality and I can attest to the fact that it has been prepared to perfection. I started with a baked marrow bone, salted and served with fresh, slightly grilled bread. For the main I selected the filet mignon, blue, flavored with just salt and a dollop of butter. Lucky for me, the restaurant managed to procure wild chanterelles that week, and these forest marvels formed the special of the day, served alongside the steak or as a starter on a slice of bread. The meat was cooked to perfection the chanterelles provided subtle flavoring the bread was fresh and well selected as accompaniment, this was a very simple and a very delicious meal. The staff was attentive and responsive and I have nothing but good things to say about the experience, this is the second time I visited this establishment and will...
Read moreI recently revisited this meat restaurant after a six-year hiatus, and I must say, their improvements were impressive. The burger was a meat lover's dream, with juicy and delicious meat that left my taste buds satisfied. While the bun was merely average, it didn't overshadow the star of the show—the meat. However, the fries could benefit from a more authentic French touch rather than being too English in style. Overall, the taste of the meat made up for any minor shortcomings, and I left the restaurant feeling content. Kudos to the restaurant for their flavorful improvements...
