Absolutely amazing place! I must confess, I didn't visit it to to see an opera or other performance, I was just wandering in the extensive, very intricate garden complex surrounding this place, and I decided to take a closer look at the impressive architectural details of the structure itself. I will definitely visit this place again soon, not only to listen to music but to have a nice, elegant dinner as well. The entire area has a very old and very dramatic history, google "Saint Magdalene Hill Białystok", but the Opera House definitely represents the NEW Bialystok, Bialystok which cherishes its history, but embraces the future, the modern and extravagant as well! The building itself is a destination for all fans of modern, green, sustainable architecture. There is an excellent restaurant, an outdoor sitting area, great to have a cool beer on a hot day while watching goldfishes in small nearby ponds, an amphitheater and endless, very exciting stairs to the very top of the building as well. There is a roof garden with a monument to Czesław Niemen, the patron of the institution, among flowers and trees. Outside, the edifice will be covered with creepers and evergreen ivy, helping the building to become incorporated by the green landscape, forming an organic part of it. Solar panels erected along a side elevation will also be covered with green, imitating the natural elevation of the ground. Opera i Filharmonia Podlaska – Europejskie Centrum Sztuki im. Stanisława Moniuszki przy ulicy Odeskiej 1 w Białymstoku to jeden z najnowocześniejszych i najbardziej imponujących obiektów kulturalnych w tej części Europy. Jego monumentalna, a zarazem finezyjna bryła, zaprojektowana przez prof. Marka Budzyńskiego, stała się ikoną współczesnej architektury miasta. Duża Scena z widownią na 771 miejsc, wyposażona w jedne z najnowocześniejszych w Europie rozwiązania technologiczne, takie jak cztery sceny zapadniowe, scena obrotowa o średnicy 14 metrów oraz mobilna muszla koncertowa. Akustyka sali została zaprojektowana przez światowej sławy specjalistów z firmy Artec Consultants Inc z Nowego Jorku. Interesującym detalem jest również fakt, że budynek opery jest w pewnym sensie samowystarczalny pod względem energetycznym, wykorzystując pompy ciepła i systemy odzyskiwania energii. Wnętrza zdobią naturalne materiały: beton architektoniczny, kamień, drewno i szkło, tworząc surowy, a jednocześnie elegancki klimat.
