We were suggested to go to this restaurant to try the polish cousine. The restauran has a common internal court divided between the polish and the italian restaurant. We sat at one of the outside polish tables with my wife and my 6 years old daughter. Chose our polish courses and a plate for the kid. My daughter did not like the food so we asked if it was possible to have a pizza for her. The policy of the restaurant does not allow to have italian food if you seat at the polish table but we asked to have a pizza for her asking to understand the situation; the pizza was not for us but for her. The waiter replied that if she wanted a pizza had to sit at the italian restaurant tables... alone or with my wife, leaving her food at our table. Not to mention my dauther started to cry because she really believed we wanted to send her to have dinner alone at a different table. We asked to talk to the manager, but he replied the same story. Now, this goes against all the hospitality principles that a owner restaurant needs to take into account when hosting clients... or simply close the activity down. Running a restaurant is not a job... at least in our part of the world. Just to mention, we stood up, left our food untouched, paid and left the place. I strongly suggest not to go there... especially if you have the burden to order food for your kids in a...
Read moreMixed feelings after our dinner at Czosnek i Oliwa. On the one hand, the food was very good - interesting flavours, good ingredients and presentation, so was the ambience - pleasant and cosy setting. But, on the other hand, the service was just appalling. I'm not sure whether it's an individual occurrence or the way the staff is trained there in general (not sure I want to find out though 😀), but we (a group of 4) found the service to be almost rude. Bartek (I believe this was the name of our waiter) was nowhere to be seen to accommodate us, seat us down properly or when our glasses had to be topped up, but towards the end of the evening he was circling our table asking if we had finished yet (no, we hadn't - the plates were still half-full) while we were still enjoying our meal. In the end, he just took our plates away, one of them was almost untouched, without checking if there was a problem or offering us to take away the portion we didn't finish 😀 I don't think we will be back - just to avoid the chance of being served in a similar way again - there are plenty of good restaurants in Bydgoszcz who are delighted to look after ...
Read moreOne of the absolute top restaurants in Bydgoszcz. This easily accessible with spacious parking lot restaurant is one of the nicest looking one. With good indoor and outdoor dining area makes you feel welcomed and comfortable. The service was top notch, not too much but professional and ready to walk an extra mile. Everybody can find something from their selection of the dishes. We had tiger prawns green curry with crispy veggies and chicken goujons from the kids menu with delicious coffee with any milk and craft ice cream selection. Everything was delicious! I highly recommend this place! I came back yesterday and their new menu waas rather surprising. I would have never thought that you can compose something like that! The beetroot burger was so nice and the vegan cheese +cilantro+ rocket leaves muss was delicious and so were the prawns. For the first time we were seated in orangery. It's so...
