I usually don’t leave negative reviews, however, my today’s experience ruined my opinion about this place.
I visited Manekin before, and the food was always good. However, today the stuff ruined the whole dining experience at this place, and restaurants are not only about the food.
When being welcomed by the most unpleasant lady I’ve ever seen in my life at the restaurants, whose name was Justyna, we asked about the availability at the second floor witnessing two couples just leaving it meaning there were available tables, we got told there were no available places upstairs.
In the next two minutes I saw another hostess bringing people upstairs which was a complete disgrace since we haven’t been offered to wait a few minutes to get to the second floor.
The table we got was the worst table at the first floor since it had no light above and was very close to the stuff area so people were circling all the time nearby. When we kindly asked to change the table since there were two available tables close to us, we got a no from a waitress and she told us to ask another lady responsible for it. How do you imagine that? The guests should look for a particular person on their own across the whole restaurant to change a table? Again disgrace. This was actually incredibly lame.
After we got our food we finally saw the lady and asked about the change, she told since the food was there we couldn’t change the table. So if the waitress knew we won’t be able to change the table why she brought the food and didn’t care at all, she could call the responsible person to help us before we get the food, however, none of it had happened.
Later on, we had another girl asking if everything was fine, but obviously it was not.
While the food was good, especially mushroom soup, the attitude you get is a shame. People come to the restaurants for the atmosphere, not only a food.
Today, my experience was far from being a good one and...
Read moreI was recommended this place by a family member, so when I was in the main city I searched it out specifically. There was a queue when I got there, I didn't have to wait super long, but it was a significant amount (especially as it was raining a bit) Getting in I was told it was a 45 minute wait, the time went pretty fast cause I was just messing around on my phone. Service was polite, the waitress brought me over a menu in English which was helpful as I was just translating the one fixed near the door on my phone. I went with the soup in bread, it was super tasty and filling, I also had a fresh orange which was delicious, probably the best fresh orange I've ever had. I really wish I had saved space for dessert (or at least ordered one to go) as this place is known for its pancakes. When the lady took away my plate I sat for 5 mins waiting, saw another few servers get the bill for a few tables around me that fished after me. Eventually I asked one of the passing waiters if they could bring the bill. Think it was just lost in translation, maybe she thought I was waiting on a dessert. The place is pretty big but seems to only have two individual toilets. I stood at the one downstairs behind another person for several minutes but at that time had arranged an Uber, so went upstairs to the next one. There was no toilet roll in the cubicle (a persistent problem that day, I visited the amber museum earlier and that too had no toilet roll in any toilets!) Probably should be kept on top of in such a busy restaurant. Would return, definitely need to try out...
Read moreWe went there on a Wednesday morning at 10 am, I appreciated that the waitress brought me the English menu on his own and to my friend the polish menu, however he only brought the normal menu without the breakfast one which gave us the impression that they don’t serve breakfast on summer only to find out later after we ordered that they actually do, and we didn’t get that menu. So minus for that!
The food was nice, I’d say the portion is big for one person and I’m a bodybuilder so coming from me, take it! Share the plate with someone, don’t bloat yourself eating the whole thing alone, unless you wanna take it away afterwards.
So we ordered coffee, cappuccino and the latte mach sth with camel syrup And we ordered a salty dish ( tortilla with chicken like KFC ) and a sweet one ( the American pancakes with peanut, chocolate and icecream ) both taste great, especially the sweet dish, recommend it
I definitely have to come back again for the breakfast menu, I changed my rate from 4 stars to 5. You’re...
