The restaurant was very well presented and connected to a hotel which provides free WiFi.
They have an excellent and reasonably priced menu but unfortunately it was let down by slow and inefficient service.
I chose the rump steak which was a huge portion with chips, pita, salad and a mushroom sauce on the side. It is served with a choice of dips. Everything was delicious, although despite asking how I wanted the steak cooking and requesting well done, the steak was served rare. However, this was quickly corrected.
When I asked for the bill, I was given a choice of both Euro or Zloty. Knowing the exchange rate may not be in my favour opted for Zloty and was presented a figure on a calculator display which had almost 10Zloty added to the stated menu prices without any explaination. There was no usual bill. This is most unusual in Polish restaurants and did feel like, even though I was speaking in Polish, they try to fleece foreign visitors who are percieved to be richer.
I most certainly will not be returning to this particular restaurant as the feeling of being conned was not a pleasant end to an otherwise wonderful meal. I actually stayed in the connected hotel, which was lovely, but opted to have breakfast elsewhere due to...
Read moreI've lived here for 3 years and only just decided to try Ramzes out - now I regret not coming sooner! I've been here twice now, both times the food was well cooked, dishes are wonderfully put together and everything is served fresh, hot and in good time. The staff often speak both German and English as well as polish, which is a great help for me as an English speaker.
The restaurant itself is nicely decorated with an Egyptian theme. The lights above the tables are decorated gourds and some of them have seen damage that hasn't been repaired but overall, the place is well kept. There's upstairs seating for busier times and an outdoor patio in the back, although this leads to an area that is essentually a car park and a main road so it's not really a place we like to sit.
Just a warning but many of the meals are VERY big, I couldn't even get through half of the grilled chicken...
Read moreNice restaurant, from the inside more than the outside sitting area. Inside it's reeeeally lovely. I was surprised by the size of food, tho the prices are a higher as I known from polish restaurants, but therefor you get lot's to eat. I was absolutely happy with my truffle pasta, never had so many of the main ingredients in like here. In Germany you have to search for pieces of fish or meat in your pasta sometimes😂
The only -1 point is the payment. No cards now for years! What's wrong with cashless??? It's absolutely about time! If you don't bring Zloty you have to pay more in Euro. But food...
