Małe Molo — Restaurant in Sopot

We used to come around quite a few times, the food was good, the service was friendly, the atmosphere was great. In late summer of 2025 we came there again and saw a few changes. What used to be crispy nuggets in breading is now stewed or boiled chicken breast the uneven chunks are slightly burned on a BBQ. The fries were good, probably because you cannot spoil fries and get away with it. We ordered tea, we put the teabags into the water, when it was time to take tea we saw it was not strong. The cups were barely warm. I put a finger in the tea, and the tea was warm. (A human hand cannot stand being in water which is above than 50 degrees Celsius.) Ironically the teabag tags specified the required temperature: 90 degrees. That clearly was not the case. I took the tea to the stand, explained the issue and asked the girls to make good tea. They made another round of tea, the water was clearly not 90 degrees, because they got the water from the espresso machine, very quickly, they did not use a kettle or any kind of thermo pot with boiling water. Just think — they heard my complaints and simply repeated their wrongdoing. Of course, they don’t have a cabinet where they warm up the tea and coffee cups. I am not going to come there again, I attribute this change to a change of the owner, I suspect the owner is not from Poland, because I saw the same attitude in another country where owners of places in busy spots don’t care about having returning customers, they have their profits by lowering the standards and cost. Do tego! Bardzo ciekawa konwencja - zamówienia składane są przy barze, mimo że całość nie sprawia wrażenia lokalu z samoobsługą. Ale nie sprawia to złego wrażenia, wręcz przeciwnie, daje to poczucie jakiegoś zadomowienia. Obsługa - cóż za niespodzianka w moim deszczu superlatyw! - przemiła&przewspaniała 🫶

No i - jedzenie! Wpadliśmy skuszeni wtorkową promką na fish&chips i nie mieliśmy w zasadzie żadnych oczekiwań; ale może to i lepiej, bo i tak każde wyobrażalne zostałyby przekroczone. Panierka w stylu panko, puree z groszku, świetna sałatka i sos czosnkowy tudzież zdecydowanie udane frytki. Ryba świeża i dosmażona perfekcyjnie - dawno nie jadłem tak rybnej ryby nad Bałtykiem, prawdę mówiąc, jakkolwiek to zabrzmi 🤪

I nareszcie - widok! Miejsce położone w zasadzie na plaży, nam trafiła się przyjemność posiadania stolika z widokiem wprost na morze, które znajdowało się może 50 metrów w linii prostej od nas. Dookoła praktycznie żadnych zabudowań, z tyłu park i hotel, do tego cudowny taras z otwartym wyjściem. Ogromny plus za drewniany i utrzymany w stonowanych kolorach park zabaw dla dzieci obok, jaka miła-li jest to ci odmiana po tych wszystkich mieniących się spektrum możliwie najbardziej jaskrawych odcieni miejscach rozrywki dla najmłodszych w Polsce 😌

Toteż! Nam ten lokal uratował cały pobyt w Sopocie - byliśmy akurat zmęczeni szarą pogodą i całodziennym zwiedzaniem; zachwycił nas od progu, kuchnią, widokiem i całością doświadczenia zachwyt ów podtrzymał. Był zupełnie jak „ta chata rozświetlona” u Wyspiańskiego! Nie pozostaje nam nic innego jak najserdeczniej od serca go polecić każdemu...

I have been going to Sopot for 10 years and found this place only about 3 years ago, maybe because of habit of dining elsewhere! Well this is now our favourite hangout in Sopot. Breakfast with Prosecco and then after sunning on the beach for 5 hours we then go for proper Fish & Chips with the usual Polish salads and of course more alcohol! MaleMolo is always busy and of course some people complain but what do you expect in the busy summer months. I could say I hate this place don’t ever come here for pure selfishness BUT I won’t. Come here eat great food drink good alcohol and have fun...
