Having recently experienced an enchanting evening at Al Quimia in Algarve with my husband, we are left utterly captivated by the sheer excellence of this fine dining gem. From the moment we arrived at the restaurant, it was evident that we were in for a romantic dining journey.
Nestled within the Epic Sana Hotel premises, Al Quimia boasts a breathtaking view that perfectly complements the culinary delights it offers. The stylish and sophisticated ambiance, coupled with the panoramic vistas, created an enchanting and intimate atmosphere that set the stage for an unforgettable romantic dining experience.
The menu, an ode to the region's rich culinary heritage, is a symphony of flavors and textures that tantalized our taste buds with each course. From the amuse-bouche to the dessert, each dish was a work of art, beautifully presented and thoughtfully crafted to showcase the freshest local ingredients. The chef's skillful mastery of flavors ensured a harmonious blend of traditional and contemporary elements, leaving us in awe of each culinary creation.
The wine pairing was nothing short of perfection. The sommelier's expertise in selecting wines that complemented the flavors of each dish elevated the romantic dining experience to new heights. Each sip was a delightful revelation, and the thought put into pairing the wines with the food demonstrated a level of dedication that is truly commendable.
While the food and wine were undoubtedly exceptional, what truly set Al Quimia apart was the impeccable service. From the moment we stepped in until the final farewell, the staff's attentiveness and warmth made us feel like honored guests on this romantic culinary journey. Their knowledge of the menu and genuine passion for the culinary arts added an extra layer of joy to the entire experience. They went above and beyond to ensure our romantic evening with my husband was flawless, making the night feel like a personalized and intimate dining affair.
Al Quimia's dedication to providing an unforgettable dining experience was evident in every detail. The seamless choreography of service, the exquisite presentation of each dish, and the breathtaking ambiance all combined to create a magical and romantic atmosphere. Read moreTucked away in a picturesque garden within the EPIC SANA resort, this incredible restaurant has been a family favourite for over a decade. Our most recent visit earlier this week gave us our first opportunity to sample the 2025 tasting menus. We were not disappointed! As ever, the evening’s food began with some very tasty surprises from the chef. I won’t spoil these for future guests, but they were stunningly presented and thoroughly delicious. For the main event, I chose the Fire (Fogo) menu and opted for the wine pairing too. With those formalities out of the way, Vanessa and the Al Quimia team worked their magic and created a hugely enjoyable experience throughout the evening. Each of the carefully constructed works of art were presented at the table with immaculate precision and an overview given of the elements on the plate. It’s almost a theatrical experience, and very special. As ever, the food itself was incredible. Flavours, textures and freshness all working in perfect harmony with the accompanying wine elevating the taste of every course. I have no idea how they manage to achieve such incredibly high standards, but have come to expect nothing less over the years - an Al Quimia evening is the highlight of every visit...
Read moreThis beautiful restaurant is nestled in a prime location yet, remains exclusive. The staff were impeccably dressed and exceptionally well mannered. The restaurant catered to all languages spoken at the table. Three tasting menus were available, one of the options was vegan. The local taste of Algarve menu was decadent and fresh. We experienced a burst of flavours indigenous to nearby areas and, learnt about new produce obtained from nearby monchique and rio formosa. Each dish was presented with a keen eye for detail and the art of fine dining was maintained. The fish dishes were refreshing and the pork dish was hearty and succulent with a beautiful crisp piece of crackling seasoned to perfection. Although there are more than 1000 ways to make bacalhau; I was impressed with the chefs rendition. The palette cleanser was a pure work of art created by the head pastry chef. He offered an olive shaped and flavored ice cream- a new delight to the tastebuds. The dessert and sweets were not overly sweet and portion size was just right to appreciate all the menus had to offer. I would recommend this restaurant for an intimate occasion as the lush surrounds and decor contribute to a more modern...
