Fantastic restaurant, food and service.
Firstly let me say a few things about other reviews and comments to straighten things out!
The staff do not try and trick you into having the the bread and cheese 🧀 starter, they ask if you if you want it or not! Say yes, you get fantastic bread 🍞 and cheese 🧀 that you HAVE to pay for! Why would you think food is free? Say no, you don’t get it, you don’t pay 💰 Pretty simple really!!
Next people complain about the size of the chicken 🍗 portions. To be clear, this restaurant specialises in Piri Piri chicken, to get the best most tender chicken, the chicken is a smaller chicken to make it more juicy, if you want chicken pieces the size of a duck 🦆 stick to rubbish nandos!
Read moreThe food itself was ok but the portion's were terrible. We thought we were getting a quarter of chicken each. No chance we got stitched right up as obviously we were English and served budgie sized micro chicken's. Wasn't aware they had miniature chicken's. Portuguese people were served larger portions and welcomed much more. Hence forth we wouldn't go back. When we asked was that all we were getting the male waiter basically said you should have listened more carefully as our little baby was chatting. Don't think he meant to be rude but that's how it came over. ... Unless your from Portugal I seriously wouldn't bother. . He also told us they were small portions. Didn't see small portions on the menu only quarter size portion s. Before the owner replies I Will personally call in to see him and for him to tell me the waiter didn't say that. I have 7 witnesses. . The immigrants that have food establishments in England just say white English people not aloud. They don't mince word's. ... Just state a sigh on the door if your not from this country you're not welcome because that's exactly how you made us feel. Thank you manel. 30 year's ago you might of been a lovely establishment. Today you're finished to the foreigner's..... Thanks for...
Read moreIncredibly disappointing. In the 20 years I've lived (on and off) in Portugal, I've never had such flavourless food. 25 min wait for chicken that was hacked to bits so small it wasn't easy to find more than a small chunk of and the salad was so badly prepared it was a laughing point for the rest of the evening. The starter of prawns came with garlic bread that was so crunchy it couldn't be finished. On top of that, it was DOUBLE the price of the meals we had had previously in other restaurants without ordering a bottle of wine for the table.
This restaurant only serves chicken piri piri as a main and prawns as a starter, it is genuinely astounding that with such a basic menu, such little effort is made with it. There was a menu outside but we knew we wanted piri piri so went in without looking, assuming there was a menu inside but there wasn't, so we weren't aware that 4 prawns cost almost 25 euros and 33 euros for 2 chickens....
This place is truly taking the piss. Just down the road on your right, far better experience and food. (Will write review for it)
