A must-go of you're in Albufeira! The food is exceptional, the staff friendly, the drinks selection great and the prices very reasonable.
We got the stuffed bread with cheese, bacon and chorizo, pardon peppers, steak with pickles (trust me, it works) and the fried sausage with mushrooms.
Who knew the bread would be the star of the show! Bread was super fresh, crunchy and soft, good quality sourdough. The cheese sauce was to die for. Second best was the steak. The way the pickles cut the fattiness of the meat made it so morish, and the olives added the balancing touch of salt to the dish. Make sure you have some bread to sop up all the delicious sauce.
I really appreciated the honesty of the staff - we wanted to order more because we had no idea what the portions would be like and they advised that we had already ordered too much. They were right, but we did manage to finish everything in the end, hehe!
As for the drinks, great selection of wines - bottles, small bottles (which is what I had as I was the only one drinking wine) or by the glass. The espresso martini was also well made.
The staff are very friendly and all speak perfect English, as is the case with all the restaurants in this area to be honest. Very polite and attentive.
I think a better playlist and different chairs would absolutely elevate this amazing restaurant.
The prices were very reasonable too, I wish I had more time in Albufeira so that I...
Read moreComfortably the worst customer service I have ever experienced. We came with a large group (having called ahead to make sure they could accommodate that number) and despite being promised they could the food took over three hours, multiple orders were missed. Upon saying to the waiter that the service was unacceptable and rather than wait for the missed meals to be cooked we wanted them just removed from the bill they refused, served up undercooked burgers which gave 2/3 of the missed meals food poisoning and swore at me. I was ready to spend over a thousand euros at their bistro and that was how I was treated. I was baffled. To make matters worse upon checking the bill I found there were items on the bill that we hadn’t even ordered, to which the manager lied to me saying he did not have the power to change the bill only his manager could (conveniently on holiday at the time and couldn’t be reached by telephone) and only once I stood my ground did he then suddenly remeber that he could - felt like a tourist tax hoping that we wouldn’t check the bill.
I have never in my life experienced such poor service coupled with multiple staff member swearing at me (despite me never doing so to them).
If you decide to come here please please please triple check your...
Read moreMy wife and I popped into Double D for a drink on our recent holiday in Albufeira and ended up going back another three or four times for food and cocktails. Double D has a sister restaurant O Lusitano, which is an upmarket restaurant ideal for a special meal and which we would also highly recommend. We found all the staff at Double D to be really friendly and keen to ensure that everything they served us was up to our expectations. We really enjoyed their cocktails and we tried several tapas dishes on a couple of visits, which were all excellent. We had some leftover garlicky oil one evening and they actually went to the trouble of making us a small loaf to soak up all the flavour, which was very impressive. On our last day, we had a breakfast at Double D. Again the food was lovely and the staff couldn't do enough to help. Overall, a great place to sit and chill and enjoy some lovely food with really friendly staff. Highly...
