Fabulous find based on reviews read here. We arrived late and made a bee line for the restaurant. At first glance it doesn't look like much but inside it's spacious. The menu is reasonably priced. We ordered Garlic Prawns, a starter accompanied by veg and potatoes to make a main, and Portuguese Style Steak which came with sliced, fried potatoes. Both came in dangerously sizzling clay dishes. Although parts of the steak was fatty and a little bit tougher, there was such of it that I was able to get plenty of tender meat. My wife's prawn were "stunning and huge, whole prawns". She said she wouldn't have ordered the sides if she'd known how large the portion would be. The ambience is cafeteria like, bright fluorescent lights but the food and prices make up for that. Total for covers, served unasked for but cheap, were olives, garlic carrots and bread, Mains and sides with two half bottles of house red and white wine was €50.80. Looking forward to visiting this restaurant again...
Read moreThis place was a lovely little find whilst away with a group of mates. The place doesn't look anything special from the outside but once inside it's a cozy little traditional looking place and very welcoming. The service from the 3 or 4 older gentlemen waiters was impeccable, very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, from the bowl of clams to the meat and cheese starter, the olives, garlic buttered toast and small sardine tasters to the mains of steak, sea bream and grilled squid all served with sides. Our party of 4 had 4 pints and 2 bottles of lovely white wine and with a tip we paid €160........reasonable in price but well worth it in quality of the food, drink...
